The Newnan Cougars, rival of the East Coweta Indians, have managed to have a very impressive season in their own right as well. In fact, one can even say that they have had a better season than the Indians. Entering into week 9 of the high school football season throughout the state of Georgia, the Cougars have managed to record an 8-0 record. They have defeated teams such as Whitewater, Sandy Creek, Mary Persons, Harris County, King, North Paulding, McEachern, and Pebblebrook. With the amount of success that the Cougars have managed to have this year, the only thing holding them back from a perfect season is East Coweta.

While there have been plenty of strengths to this football team, the defensive play has been very impressive. On multiple accounts, the Cougars defense has held teams to less than 17 points a game- which is very impressive. Along with this, the defense has managed to accumulate 6 total interceptions, all from different players.
