Zach Branam QB La Salle, C/O 2021- Branam was at the center of pretty much all of La Salle’s offense. While Branam and the lancer offense struggled in the pass game for most of the night, he did a lot of work on the ground as he rushed the ball 27 times for 158 yards. The 6’0 200 pound QB was tough as nails as he toted the rock into the teeth of a very stingy Tigers defense. Branam has good short area quickness and adequate long speed. He’s not afraid of physicality which is evidenced by his willingness to run between that tackles and does a good job of throwing on the run. Branam will fit best in a college offense that feature the zone run, RPO’s and on designed rollouts. Zach is receiving interest from mostly D3 schools.
Martavien Johnson Martavien Johnson 5'9" | 170 lbs | WR Buchtel | 2021 State OH WR, Massillon Washington C/O 2021- Johnson came up with the big play of the night, a 48 yard touchdown that proved to be the game winner. On the touchdown the senior receiver ran a skinny post to perfection, giving the DB a shoulder shrug to the outside and then darted inside to catch the well thrown pass and take it to the house. Martavien totaled 3 catch for 70 yards and 1 touchdown on the evening. Though Johnson is smaller in stature (5’9 170 pounds) he’s a slippery route runner with the speed and quickness to create separation and make plays after the catch. Johnson currently has offers from Kentucky, Maryland, and Harvard among others.
Willtrell Hartson RB Massillon Washington, C/O 2023- Just as Branam was for LaSalle, Harston was the heart and soul of the Tiger Offense. Hartson had 26 carries for 132 yards on the evening. While LaSalle was able to limit the Massillon Washington offense for most of the night other than the aforementioned big play by Johnson, Hartson was the steady cog on the night that moved the chains all night for the Tigers. At 5’10 200 pounds the young sophomore back is already a physically imposing runner. He excels between the tackle where he runs downhill with good tempo and vision. Hartson definitely has a very bright future ahead of him.
