As the first Signing Day approaches (December 16th), Pennsylvania’s number one ranked safety and the nation’s number two ranked safety (according to 247Sports), Derrick DavisDerrickDavis6'1" | DBGateway | 2021StatePA has made his decision. The 6 foot 1 – and 195-pound safety out of Gateway High School is taking his talents to LSU over Penn State, Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, and others. Derrick is the fourth safety to commit and LSU now has the top 2 ranked safeties in the nation. He is also the third-highest recruit for LSU’s 2021 recruiting class. It has been more than a decade since LSU has gotten a recruit from Pennsylvania. Derrick has the size and speed to play at the highest level. He shows great instincts and physicality. His ability to make guys miss with the ball in his hands is so smooth. This past Friday night unfortunately marked his last high school game as Gateway came up short in a tough loss in the second round of the playoffs.
