Close games, top prospects playing well, under the radar players making huge impacts, comebacks, it had it all! We will cover the Semi’s below, every game, every standout prospect.
Wyomissing 44 – Danville 14
The Wyomissing Spartans dominated Danville at every level in a semifinal matchup that resulted in a mercy-rule win for the overwhelming favorite. We love to talk prospects here and even in rout’s standout performers can be found! The Wyomissing offense scored on seven consecutive drives which was a feat in itself. Jordan Auman, a senior who gives reps at defensive back and quarterback, was all over the field racking up yards where ever they can be found. Auman toted the rock 11 times for 67 yards and a touchdown, had 30+ receiving yards and a score, and also took a kickoff 60 yards just before being brought down in what would have been his third touchdown of the day. Shout out to starting quarterback, senior Zach Zechman, who doesn’t get enough lobe on this site. He finished the game completing 11 of 12 passes for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Even in the loss, the Danville connection that has thrived all fall was still hitting this past weekend, albeit not enough to keep up with the Spartans. R.J. Riley and Carson Persing on an 80-yard touchdown and a 50-yard heave earlier in the game that didn’t amount to any points. Turnovers derailed any kind of productivity between the two. Both tapes on both prospects will be watched nonetheless.
Bedford 20 – Central Valley 49
Harvard commit and stand-out athlete Ameer Dudley Ameer Dudley 6'2" | 188 lbs | ATH Central Valley | 2021 State PA was behind the driver’s seat in this semifinal win that has propelled Central Valley to yet another Hershey appearance. Dudley was efficient, accurate, and on time with his deliveries, going 9 of 11 for 187 yards and a rushing touchdown. The bulk of the offensive scoring came behind oft-overshadowed Landon Alexander Landon Alexander 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Central Valley | 2022 State PA , a six-foot, 180-pound junior who has cemented his stock as a top junior running back with others in this tournament. Alexander was SPECIAL, running on 17 attempts for 155 yards and three touchdowns (9,2,25). A shout out to Myles Walker Myles Walker 5'10" | 155 lbs | WR Central Valley | 2021 State PA as well, an undersized but highly productive athlete who will be taking his talents to Akron next year. Walker ran an 85-yard run in for a score and also had a 65-yard punt return called back that would have also been a score for the future Zip.
Quarterback Mercury Swaim made this somewhat respectable in the end, showing poise at times and an ability to deliver passes to his targets on time and with a purpose. Turnovers did Bedford in, but Swaim put up a very decent stat line! Throwing for 243 yards, and accounting for all three touchdowns while also throwing one interception. It was an uphill battle that Swaim and Bedford were willing to climb. Respect to them!
