Essentially every one of those prospects shined at different times throughout the game on Thursday night to wrap up the 2020 Fall season. Let’s dive into exactly who made the list and see what they did in the game! Edgar did win in convincing fashion, and they will be more represented in this list because of it. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
Austin Dahlke Austin Dahlke 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB Edgar | 2021 State WI , Senior LB/RB- Edgar
Austin lived up to the hype that I built up in my head leading up to the game. He checked off all the boxes that make him one of the absolute best LBs in the state. He is 6’1″ 190 lbs with all the speed and lateral agility you could want in an LB. Not to mention that he can drop into coverage just as well as he can rush the QB. Austin is the most complete LBs I have seen this season. That athleticism carried right over to his offensive output from the RB position as well. Austin finished the night with 19 carries for 135 yards, 2 rushing TDs, and 1 reception for 38 yards on offense. On defense he went off for 8 Total Tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 Sack, and a pick six. Dahlke made an impact from start to finish. Amazing performance. Check out his season highlights here! Dahlke’s 2020 Highlights
Kyle Brewster, Senior RB/DB- Edgar
Brewster had a great game and he was fun to watch. He finished the game with a big impact on both sides of the ball. You will start to notice a pattern here that almost every player on this list had a big impact both ways. Kyle’s final stat line was 19 carries for 169 yards, 3 rushing TDs, 1 tackle, and 1 INT. Brewster was definitely the overall Player of the Game. His speed and vision were on full display as he would take tosses to the outside over and over, then pick his spots before cutting up field for big chunk after big chunk. He also had a nose for the endzone, just like he has had all season, as he finished second in the state with 22 rushing TDs. On defense he did a nice job in coverage all night long and was able to jump in front of a deep pass over the middle for his INT and then made a nice return that eventually was nullified by a penalty, but the pick stood. Konnor Wolf, Senior QB/DB- Edgar
Konnor had a great game. He didn’t have to show off the arm much tonight, but when he did he proved that he could get the ball wherever he needed it to be as he completed multiple deep passes. He finished the day on offense 3/3 for 107 yards, and 1 TD. Where he shined was while playing DB and guarding the best receiver for Iola- Scand. Wolf had the confidence you look for out on the island and had no problem playing press coverage and then sticking with the receiver throughout the route thanks to his play speed. He finished the night on defense with 9 total tackles, and 1 pass defensed. It was an impressive game all around.
Brayden Baumgartner Brayden Baumgartner 6'4" | 215 lbs | DL Edgar | 2021 State WI , Senior DL- Edgar
Brayden was apart of the defensive front seven that dominated the trenches all night long for Edgar. He has the build and frame that has the room to grow into an impressive player for a school at the next level. He is already 6’4″ 215 lbs. Brayden consistently held the line all night and he did a great job of beating his man over and over on the way to 8 total tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 sack. Brayden plays with a lot of strength and that is the trait he tends to win with the most. As he develops more and more technique to go with that strength and athleticism for the position Brayden could become a special player. Lots to work with here and he had a great game last night.
Ayden Weisenberger, Junior RB/LB- Edgar
Ayden is going to be one of the guys to watch up at Edgar next season. He made plays on both sides of the ball throughout the game and showed off traits that have me intrigued to watch how he develops leading into his senior season. Ayden currently stand around 5’11″ 180 lbs. On defense he showed burst and closing speed on his sack. When he took over on offense in the second half he proved to be a hard runner and a good blocker. This will definitely be a kid that I keep an eye on next season when he steps into a big role on both sides of the ball for Edgar. Remember this name.
Parker Prahl, Junior QB- Iola- Scandinavia
Parker is going to be one of the top athletes to watch next year. He plays QB, but this game he proved that he is more of an athlete than fitting into any specific position right now. Just tonight alone he made some nice passes, and made a reception deep down the field. Add in that he is one of the best ball carriers in the state and you get a kid with a lot of potential. That athleticism flashed several times on Thursday night. Besides on that reception, Prahl also was one of the team’s kick returners, and he did a great job of buying time in the pocket while being pressured by a very good front seven on the other side of the ball. This guy needs to be on everybody’s list of must watch for next year. He is going to put on a show.
Brye Hardel, Senior RB/LB- Iola- Scandinavia
Hardel is a big RB/LB prospect and his play style matches his size. Brye stands at about 6’1″ 230 lbs and he runs well behind his shoulder pads to move the pile and pick up extra yards after contact. It was tough sledding for him against the front seven of Edgar, but he was still able to break loose for a few nice chunk plays. He isn’t just a big back that picks up the short yards. He has the play speed to pick up some big plays too as he averages over 10 yards a carry on the season. He even showed off the arm a bit on a nice 43 yard pick on a pass after rolling out to his left and launching it deep to his QB. On defense he had his hands full slowing down the Edgar run game, but he took the task head on. In the end, Edgar definitely had to attack the edges of the defense for their opening running lanes thanks to Hardel’s play on the inside. Hardel is an impressive prospect.
Marcus Jaworski, Senior WR/DB- Iola- Scandinavia
Marcus proved to be the go to receiver in Thursday’s game. He made plays in different ways from his position too. He took a middle screen for a nice gain on one of his four receptions for 59 total receiving yards. For being a bigger receiver Marcus did a great job of playing in tight quarters. They went back to that screen play a couple times as well as using Jaworski on a few deeper attempts. Marcus had to step up on defense too and make some TD saving tackles. Marcus is also a special baseball recruit and will actually be playing collegiate baseball at SMSU.
