River Ridge snuffed out a 2-point conversion attempt in overtime that would have won the game for Kennesaw Mountain but instead, the Knights (10-0) continued their magical season. River Ridge won 35-34 and both programs had multiple players who stood out in this first-round playoff matchup.
Amehre Morrison, RB, Class of 2022
River Ridge
It didn’t take long for the leading rusher in Georgia’s second-highest classification to make an impact on the game. Morrison’s 42-yard, first-quarter touchdown opened the scoring, and the dynamic back continued to play like one of the best players in the state. He finished with 162 yards on 22 carries (7.3 average) while finishing with three scores.
His final touchdown came on the first play of overtime and gave life back to a River Ridge team that had surrendered a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter. Morrison (5’8”, 165) will have a primetime stage next week against state power Rome in the second round.

Brian Bradley, DE, Class of 2022
River Ridge
Bradley’s tackle numbers remain unofficial but his impact on the game anything but uncertain. The junior defensive lineman was in the Kennesaw Mountain backfield all night and recorded at least one sack and several tackles for loss. One of the best defensive players for the Class of 2022 in Cherokee County.
Riley Caines, TE/WR, Class of 2021
River Ridge
Caines finished with three receptions for a team-high 56 yards with a touchdown. Caines (6’1”, 210) has seen his recruitment skyrocket this fall primarily with NAIA and DIII offers. The hybrid receiver now sits with 11 offers including Reinhardt University, Berry College and Birmingham-Southern among others.

Cayman Prangley, QB, Class of 2023
Kennesaw Mountain
This sophomore signal caller looks like a name to keep an eye on moving forward. With excellent size (6’2”, 215) Prangley looks the part and on Friday he was integral in bringing his team from behind to send the game into overtime. Prangley finished 13-for-21 passing for 125 yards with three touchdowns. When it mattered most, Prangley stepped up. He completed his final six passes with the final two resulting in touchdowns at the end of regulation and in overtime. Prangley was effective out of the pocket as well, finishing with 65 yards on 12 carries and picked up multiple first downs in key critical situations.

Jaylen Hill, WR, Class of 2021
Kennesaw Mountain
Hill almost singlehandedly won the game for Kennesaw Mountain. The senior receiver (5’11”, 190) finished with a game-high seven receptions for 67 yards with two touchdowns. His touchdowns came on critical downs at the end of regulation and in overtime and he also showed his athleticism during the game while taking multiple screen passes and converting them into first downs.
