Mineola v Mt Vernon (11/27/2020 @ 1:00 PM) Players to Watch:
Trevion Sneed Trevion Sneed 6'1" | 235 lbs | DL Mineola | 2021 TX , Mineola (2021 DE #19 Ranked) This 6’1, 235 lb explosive all-around athlete is an impact player at DE & RB for Mineola and has helped springboard their playoff run. He has the tools to play RB in college, but when you add on Sneed’s strength, aggression, and frame, the big schools can’t ignore what a dynamic edge rusher he is. Sneed has every physical tool you could ask for, but I am impressed by how the young man plays so hard all game while being the team’s workhorse on both sides of the ball. Sneed is committed to SMU, and had other offers from 11 other major programs. Texas A&M, Texas, and Houston have also shown some interest but yet to make an offer. http://www.hudl.com/video/3/9742697/5f552908b018770b105737d1
Jackson Anderson Jackson Anderson 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Mineola | 2021 TX , Mineola (2021 OL #34 Ranked) This 6’4, 290 lb kid is a mauler with great feet, and Mineola uses this to lead their dynamic rushing attack. As a former offensive lineman, I could watch this tape all day long. Jackson pulls with ease and doesn’t get caught up in the trash, plus he is a violent finisher. Anderson is a University of Colorado commit but also had 12 more D1 offers. http://www.hudl.com/v/2Efcwu
Brock Nellor, MT Vernon (2021 QB) Brock is 6-2, 230 lb pro-style quarterback with a strong arm. He is a pro-style gunslinger, but don’t let that fool you, he can scramble to extend plays and makes accurate passes on the run. Playing QB for Art Briles can’t hurt either, the legendary coach has a reputation for developing QB’s and getting them to reach their max potential. No solid offers yet for Brock, but his name is getting out there and the offers are soon to follow. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9860254/5fa8a27315f72508d469479a
#1 Carthage v #6 Salado (11/27/2020 @ 5:30 PM) Players to Watch:
Kai Horton Kai Horton 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Carthage | 2021 TX , Carthage (2021 QB #29 ranked) Tall, strong-armed Pro-style QB does a great job facilitating the call around the entire field. He makes the difficult throw look casual. Kia stands at 6’4 in the pocket and always looks poised, I have yet to seem him look rushed or jittery. The confident and talented signal-caller has offers from McNeese State and SFA while getting serious looks from Houston, Baylor, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, and Southern Miss. http://www.hudl.com/v/2Ebq59
Montrell Smith Montrell Smith 6'3" | 230 lbs | TE Carthage | 2021 TX , Carthage (2021 TE #22 ranked) Love Smith’s size for the position, at 6’4, 220, he is a matchup nightmare for defenses at any level. He is not just a new age pass catching TE, he is a complete old school TE that will knock a DE back off the ball to help the running game as fast as he will scorch a LB in coverage. Smith has committed to the University of Central Arkansas. http://www.hudl.com/v/2EfxkS
Kilgore v Hargrave (11/27/2020 @ 7:00 PM) Players to Watch:
Donovan Adkins, Kilgore (2021 DB/WR) Donovan is the type of fearless corner you can put on an island and not worry about what happens. Has great instincts, technique, and ball skills. He has 2 INTs, a forced fumble, and multiple pass breakups. Adkins helps out at WR as well with just under 600 yards receiving on the year, averaging 20 yards per catch. Adkins has offers from SFA, University of Incarnate World, Central Arkansas, Northwestern State, Sam Houston, Louisiana College, Texas Southern, and Lamar. http://www.hudl.com/v/2EDZe9
Trayveon Epps, Kilgore (2021 RB) Epps has break away, home run hitting speed to go along with some nice wiggle. The vision and balance is there, plus he has a great attitude and motor. In total this year he has broken 2 school records, has 1719 rushing yards, 22 rushing TDs, 281 reviewing yards, and two receiving TDs. At this point in Epps recruitment, he only has offers from ETBU, Louisiana College, and Millikin University. I fully expect more offers coming his way, to me, he is one of the most underrated prospects in this class. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10286741/5f5f80714ba7da0af07cf753
