While we have had our share of quality backs throughout the years, this Covid season has actually watch these athletes receive more attention from services and recruiters who just needed some football in their lives.
Because colleges aren’t allowed to have their coaches visit and will remain in this no contact period until April 2021, there is a major need to expose every athlete possible.
The one thing that we have done since we started is to promote, evaluate and expose every football player – from every corner of the state – regardless of “star” rating.
Today, we look at that running back position with five talented football players to check out.
2021 – Al-Jacob “AJ” Darring, Stoneman Douglas. Here is a very gifted football talent who had just started to establish himself as one of the top players the past few years. Fast forward and he is in northwest Broward County and doing some positives for the Eagles this season. He has been among the best this season, and his performance against Coral Springs backs up what talent this young man has. He had 18 carries for 165 yards and a touchdown.

2021 – Patrick Forsyth, St. Cloud. Here is a durable senior who runs hard and uses his blockers as well as anyone we have watched. He just finds a way to get the job done – like he did early this season in a win over 2A Victory Christian when he had 227 yards rushing on 37 carries and two touchdowns in a win.

2023 – Brandon Gibson, Groveland South Lake. One of the emerging sophomores who has an opportunity over the next few years to be among the best. Watch him run the ball and you will be impressed with the many things he does. Showcased his running ability in a game against Mount Dora this season when he had 17 carries for 310 yards rushing and five touchdowns.

2021 – Dedric Hall, Nature Coast .Yet another versatile and gifted athlete that is emerging out of the Nature Coast area and at a school that continues to churn out quality athletes. One of those two-way standouts that not only turns heads of offense, but is also a quality defensive back. In a win over Crystal River this season, he had 14 carries for 100 yards and two touchdowns, plus led the way with seven catches for 150 yards and one more touchdown.

2021 – Jimmy Horn, Sanford Seminole. If you watched this impressive talent play, there is no way that he shouldn’t be getting some solid offers. Here is a quick, powerful and gifted runner who has ignited this team all season. In a close win against Port Orange Spruce Creek, he rushed for 142 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.
