Jeff LaQuaglia, Caldwell: LaQuaglia ended his Caldwell career with a strong performance in Caldwell’s 31-14 victory over Parsippany on Friday night. He ran for 114 yards on 29 carries, scoring on runs of 10, 21 and 27 yards. The Chiefs finished the season at 6-3, rebounding from a one-win campaign last year. LaQuaglia concluded the year with 643 rushing yards to lead Caldwell to its first winning season since 2017. Despite having ankle problems as of late, LaQuaglia was efficient, setting the tone early with a 21-yard score. The Caldwell running back scored on a 10-yard run – his third TD of the night – to make it 29-14 with 6:15 left in the game.
Caldwell Defense: The Chiefs made timely plays on the defensive end on Friday. Lucas Lattimer, Harry Boland and Mike Moyano had interceptions, and John Casale forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
Tyler Nolan, Caldwell: Nolan entered the box score on Friday after quarterback Luke Kurzum found him on an 88-yard TD that gave Caldwell a 13-0 lead. It was Nolan’s first score of the season. Kurzum got the ball past a blitzing Parsippany defensive front, and Nolan fought off a number of Parsippany defenders on the way to the end zone for six.
Nick DePietro, Parsippany: DePietro hit both extra points as Parsippany’s kicker and he also made six catches for 61 yards on the night.
Nick McNish, Caldwell: McNish hit a 34-yard field goal that gave Caldwell a 23-14 lead in the fourth quarter. The field goal came after Parsippany’s Justice Fitzgerald scored on a 4-yard run to get the Redhawks within one possession.
Al-Jay Henderson, Irvington: Henderson led Irvington to a dominant 38-7 road win at Clifton, helping the Blue Knights to a 7-2 mark to close out the season. Henderson closed out his Irvington career in style with 170 yards on 17 carries, three touchdowns, an interception and hitting 1,000 yards on the season. Henderson, a Buffalo commit, found the end zone early and often. He scored on runs of seven, 14 and 39 yards, averaging 10 yards per carry on the night.
Rakeem Ross, Irvington: Ross was a great contributor for Irvington Friday night with 87 yards on 19 carries.
