They will play the defending 5A state Champion Mill Valley on 11/28. Here are some of the players who played a great game in the sectional playoff round victory against Bishop Carroll.
Julius Bolden Julius Bolden 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Wichita NW | 2021 State KS RB
The 5’11 190 lb Senior had a great game on the ground on Friday night. He rushed for 175 yards on 23 carries and scored 4 TD. In 2020, he rushed for 1,358 yards on 183 carries and scored 23 TD. He also caught 5 passes for 114 yards and a TD. In addition to his great play as a RB, he also was a significant contributor on defense as he had a tackle with .5 TFL and a half sack. He has been a workhorse this season but especially in the last two weeks where he carried the ball 50 times over the last two games for 363 yards and 4 TD. His play has been a big reason for the team’s postseason success. In 2020, he had 9 games of 100+ yards and 8 games where he scored multiple TD including 2 games where he scored 4 TD.
Geremiah Moore ATH
The 5’10 180 lb Junior did it all on Friday night against Bishop Carroll. He completed a pass attempt for 20 yards, caught two passes for 16 yards and rushed for 207 yards on 23 carries and scored 2 TD. In 2020, he completed 7 of 12 passes for 112 yards and 2 TD, rushed for 855 yards on 72 carries and 11 TD while catching 17 passes for 166 yards and 4 TD. In 2020, he had 3 100+ yard rushing games and 4 games where he rushed for multiple TD. He is an accurate passer as he delivers the ball on short, intermediate and deep passes with very good accuracy and touch. Uses his very good quickness and acceleration to elude LB and DB when entering the secondary on QB design and option runs. Lines up in the slot and uses his very good play speed to separate from his man while possessing good hands as he can make on target catches with ease.
Joziah Hill DB
The 6’2 180 lb Senior made some big plays against Bishop Carroll. He made 11 tackles and an INT. In 2020, he has made 32 tackles (17 in the last two games), 3 TFL, 5 INT, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass deflection. Against the run, he quickly keys and diagnoses the play, uses his good athletic ability in pursuit and delivers a powerful hit while playing at a good pad level, bringing down larger ball carriers with ease. He displays very good ball skills as he reads the eyes of the QB, tracks the ball in the air, uses his good closing speed to put himself in position and extends his body while making the interception on a ball that is out of his strike zone.
Todric McGee DB
The 6’1 190 lb Senior had an awesome game on Friday night. He made 12 tackles (10 solo), 2 TFL, 2 pass deflections and a fumble recovery. In 2020, he made 53 tackles (26 in the last 3 games), 8 TFL, 3 INT, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 5 pass deflections. He displays good instincts as he takes the correct angle to the RB and uses his very good play strength in his upper and lower body as he brings down the larger RB with force. He is able to track the ball in the air and times his hands perfectly to disrupt the trajectory of the pass for the pass deflection.
Zac Deher DL
The 6’4 225 lb Senior DT/DE played a big role in the Grizzlies victory on Friday night. He made 6 tackles with a TFL and a fumble recovery. In 2020, he made 37 tackles with 12.5 TFL, 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and an INT. He has had at least .5 TFL in every game this year. When looking at the film, he takes a quick first step as he defeats the reach block from the OG and uses his play strength to bring down the RB with force. He is stout at the point of attack which enables him to stand his ground and not get driven back when being double teamed. When rushing the QB, he shows the ability to beat the OT or OG with his power or speed and uses his good quickness and motor to catch the QB bringing him down for a sack.
