Prep Redzone prospect rankings have been compiled by our staff with input from high school and college coaches from across the state. Players are ranked on their status as a college prospect.
We aim to expand and update our prospects rankings 2-4 times per year to continue to maintain the most comprehensive, accurate prospect rankings in the state. Today is an analyst of some of the top Wide Receivers who are committed and a few who are still undecided or overlooked and are still trying to prove themselves.
1. Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Martinsburg | 2021 State WV – Martinsburg
Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Martinsburg | 2021 State WV is an amazing football player and one of West Virginia’s top prospects. This athlete can play both sides of the ball at high levels at Wide Reciever and Defensive Back. He is most known for his skills at DB and will play defense at the next level possibly. He is dangerous with his speed and football moves. He can sit defenders down with his jukes he can put on defenders with his quick feet. Shows great route running ability on out routes and vertical routes. Shows the ability to rack up yards after the catch. Breakaway speed and agility, burst off the line of scrimmage. I think he would make a great slot receiver with his ball skills and speed, but he will be great on either side of the ball with his football iq. Future FBS star with the ability to be called to play on Sundays in the future.

2. Brandon Wiley Brandon Wiley 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Bluefield | 2021 State WV – Bluefield
Average-size Wide receiver with an athletic build. This is a speedy Wide-out who can gas defense and take it all the way to the house himself. He is used on punt/kickoff return and can make big plays happen with his lethal speed and quickness. Shows the ability to make defenders miss and rack up yards after the catch. Big time Receiver who can make big-time catches look easy. Catches the ball at the apex in the end-zone and has a great vertical jump to make catches over defenders. Flashes impressive timing and high-pointing ability on contested throws. Can improve suddenness to maximize separation ability and route-running acumen. Overall, you’re getting a complete package Receiver with Brandon. Overlooked because of his height. He easily makes up for his lack of physical attributes with his play.

3. Ethan Parsons Ethan Parsons 6'4" | 170 lbs | WR Princeton | 2021 State WV – Princeton
This receiver has a big-time vertical leap and can catch the ball at the apex. He shows good ball skills relative to the receiver position. This receiver can play both sides of the ball wide receiver and defensive back and he brings the lumber. Hus speed is adequate and is used to get separation on defenders and get open. Good route-running ability and has the ability to break tackles in the open field. A good outside receiver who brings a competitive nature to the gridiron. Great at catching screenplays and turning them into big yards.

4. Juwaun Green Juwaun Green 6'0" | 171 lbs | WR Bluefield | 2021 State WV – Bluefield
Underrated because of his size. Recognized by us for his elite speed and agility at the receiver position. His speed is lethal, and he can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. Great return man and he can make big-time plays happen on special teams. He has the ability to shake and juke defenders, break out of tackles, or simply be untouched because of his speed. Requisite route running ability, and he also shows the ability to make defenders miss in the open field after the catch. We cannot say enough about his return ability on special teams, he is simply one of the best on the list, if not in the entire state. His ability to make catches in traffic, and make defenders miss, make him very dangerous as a receiver and I believe he would be great playing the slot position or even on the outside. He backtracks and finds the ball well on under throwin throws downfield. It would be a shame for any university to pass up on this athlete, this guy is a real steal of a prospect. I see him going to Division II or III school and being an instant playmaker.
5. Stevie Mitchell Stevie Mitchell 5'8" | 165 lbs | WR Wheeling Park | 2021 State WV – Wheeling Park
The best way to try and describe this player is by relating him to the Carolinas Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey style of play. He’s used at running back butt can catch out of the backfield or even at the slot position. He has the speed and athleticism to hurdle defenders, leap over and take it into the end-zone. Tuff to bring down, keeps a low center of gravity, and is able to break tackles. Home run hitter, fierce competitor, that wants to take the ball to the end – zone every play. Shows great lateral speed and agility, making defenders miss.
