Marcus checks all of the boxes as a WR. Listed at 6’4″ 190, the Sr receiver has the size to be a possession WR, but also has the rare ability to stretch the field at his size as well. Hardy transferred from Morton to Merrillville prior to his Sr season. He made is presence felt right away, and was a major threat for an already talented squad. On the season he had 31 receptions for 862 yards and 11 TD’s. One of the most impressive traits that you see when you turn on the film, is his ability to make the big play as shown by his impressive 27.8 yards per reception. With his size, skill-set, and ability to be a major redzone threat… College coaches should be in hot pursuit of this available prospect.
- TE/DL Felix Meeks Felix Meeks 6'3" | 235 lbs | TE Crown Point | 2021 State IN – Crown Point
Felix is a prospect that jumped out to me based off his frame and upside after evaluating Jr film. He has had a considerable amount of interest from college coaches, and has picked up some offers, but to my knowledge he is yet to sign with a team. One thing that really sticks out when you turn on the film, is how well he moves at his size. He lists himself at 6’3″ 270 on Twitter, and if he is actually 270 pounds… I have seen few prospects out of Indiana move like him at that weight. I was a big fan of him as a TE Jr year, but I see a prospect that can do so much more than that when I turn on the Sr film. He has the size/athleticism/ball-skills to play TE or H-Back. He has a great motor and impressed as a DL this year. When projecting what he can be at the college level, one thing that stands out is his ability as a blocker in the run game. With his added size, I would not put it past him to develop into a high level interior lineman, or center as well. Meeks has a ton of size, skill, and versatility… This is exactly what makes him a player that college coaches need to be on right now.
- ATH Leyton McGovern Leyton McGovern 6'4" | 225 lbs | ATH Center Grove | 2021 State IN – McCutcheon
The first thing that sticks out about Leyton is his frame and upside. The transfer from Center Grove has slightly flown under the radar, and may be a little raw right now, but his upside is undeniable. This is a player that has an incredibly high ceiling and some great football in front of him. At 6’4″+ he has the rare ability to play anything from safety, to WR/TE, to OLB/DE, and that is what excites me about him as a prospect. There is just so much upside when you turn on the film, and there are few available players with his combo of frame and upside in the state of Indiana. When Leyton reaches his maximum potential, and I am confident he will, there will be a number of college coaches wondering how they missed on him in a couple years from now.
- RB Carson Steele Carson Steele 6'0" | 202 lbs | RB Center Grove | 2021 State IN – Center Grove
I feel like Carson comes to mind every time I start writing an article about Indiana HS prospects. He is the total package as a prospect, and you will have trouble finding a more complete unsigned player out of Indiana in the 2021 class. This kid is a flat out grinder, loves the game, and has the talent to back it up. I know that he has some FCS offers and FBS interest / Walk-on opportunities, but this kid is better than that level of recruitment. I challenge anybody to turn on the film and explain to me why he isn’t a multiple offer FBS prospect… The tape speaks for itself. I can think of a number of D1 teams in need a difference maker in the backfield, and in my opinion there is no excuse for them to lack at the position, when you have a prospect like this available. Needless to say, I am a big fan of Carson, and whoever ends up with him is in for a treat.
- WR/ATH Jake Reichard Jake Reichard 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH Plymouth | 2021 State IN – Plymouth
Jake finished his HS football career with a serious bang! I’ve had multiple analysts and college coaches reach out to me about him throughout the year, and have had more than one person who I trust tell me that he was the best player on the field in games they have attended. Jake has been a multi-tool player for Plymouth, made big plays at multiple positions on the year, and was a major contributor on both sides of the ball. Listed at 6’2″ 205, he has great size, and the athleticism to compliment it. I am really impressed by his film as a WR, but with his size and athleticism… I cannot help but picture him developing into a heck of an LB, or safety that can roll into the box at the college level. I am not sure what position he will play at the next level, but I do know that he can be a difference maker at multiple spots on the field. If I am a coach looking for the best available unsigned players in Indiana, Jake is a kid that I am evaluating immediately.
