Caleb Rist Caleb Rist 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Des Lacs-Burlington | 2022 State , ATH, Des Lacs-Burlington (ND)
Rist didn’t just “drive” 11.5 hours for our showcase, he also had a fantastic drive in his feet on his cuts during our drills. Rist also looked precise on the receiving end when we broke off into 1on1s. Rist has a very nice burst off the snap and only gets faster in transition. Rist moves quite nicely in between the tackles and has solid hands to be a receiver in the slot. Rist holds one NAIA offer and I think is set for a big senior year. Junior Tape
Anthony Ward, DB, Madison Memorial (WI)
Ward showed fantastic mobility in 1on1s and his vertical was also put on display. Ward was solid at high topping the football as he grabbed several interceptions in which he showed off a great range of motion. Ward is also a kick return specialist for the Spartans, in which his tremendous burst was hard to handle for some in the Big Eight last season. Ward also has clutch footwork that allows him to make plenty of plays when the ball is in his hands off kickoffs and off interceptions. So. Tape
Jonah Jensen, DB, Brookfield Academy (WI)
The wheels and elusiveness on Jensen are what stood out to me on Tuesday night. For a kid that plays quarterback and defensive back, this kid is extremely mobile and although his film shows him more of a quarterback I think he could be a great next level DB. Jensen could use some development in pass coverage but is a defensive back that is focused on making plays, wherever that might be on the field.
Dominik McVay Dominik McVay 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Mineral Point | 2022 State WI , WR/DB, Mineral Point (WI)
According to my colleagues, McVay is a usual wide receiver that put himself in the defensive back group on Tuesday and performed very well. McVay showed off what a physical player he is not only at the combine, but it lined up well on film. McVay is a kid you can line up anywhere on the field and he’ll use his great step to scoot by you. McVay just receives his first WIAC roster spot offer and holds plenty of FCS interest at this point.
Riley Taylor Riley Taylor 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Oshkosh West | 2022 State WI , RB, Oshkosh West (WI)
It was during the 40-yard dash and the rushing drills of our showcase is when I first saw the blitzing speed Riley Taylor Riley Taylor 5'7" | 150 lbs | RB Oshkosh West | 2022 State WI of Oshkosh West had. When Taylor gets to the outside is when he can be dangerous but also is small enough to have a sneaky vision in between the tackles. This kid is a very productive downhill runner that has a burst 100% worth watching out of Oshkosh. Also a threat as a return specialist.
Aaron Grant, RB, Germantown (WI)
Watching Aaron you get the vibe of a running back that could be a stout fullback at the next level. Grant is a physical runner, to say the least, and barrels down the first level of defense with his aggressive frame at 5’9 245 pounds. With all that frame, Grant is a solid blocker as well which is why I think he could be a solid FB at the next level. Grant is a bulldozer in the Warhawks backfield that is quite versatile. Colin Girdaukas, WR, Sheboygan Lutheran (WI)
Girdauskas ran some of the crispest routes I ever saw on Tuesday night. Not only was he crisp on multiple routes, but he was also a kid that could really fly. His film shows multiple routes where he uses his strength, burst, and downhill speed to make his speed look like he’s not even running even at full speed, as he makes it looks effortless. Girdauskas is certainly a Division I prospect that comes out of tiny KLC which consists of the schools of Kohler, Sheboygan Lutheran, and Sheboygan County Christian.
Ross Rivord, LB, Superior (WI)
Rivord looked really solid in our Tuesday showcase in Wisconsin Dells. Rivord had great vision when working in 1on1 coverage. When you watch his film, Rivord is a menace in the opponent’s backfields and if not in the backfield, is guaranteed to get a tackle within 3-5 yards of the start of the play. Very consistent wrap-up tackler coming off the edge out of Superior, who will get his chance to shine in the Spring season for the Spartans.
