Fountain-Fort Carson’s Q Jones commits to Dartmouth
One of Colorado’s best running backs verbally committed to Dartmouth College football via social media Friday, that being Fountain-Fort Carson’s Q Jones Q Jones 5'11" | RB Fountain-Fort Carson | 2021 State CO .
The senior played in only eight games this year due to the shortened regular season, but still put up eye-popping numbers.

Jones was vital in pulling off a first round upset of No. 3 Ponderosa by carrying the ball 28 times for 332 yards and three TDs in the Trojans’ 41-38 victory.
“First, I want to thank my parents, grandma and sisters for supporting me through all the adversity and success,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to my trainers, coaches, teachers, counselors and teammates for everything. Without these amazing people I wouldn’t be the man I am today.”

The journey to get to Dartmouth has been anything but easy for Jones after dealing with a broken leg toward the end of his sophomore campaign.
Jones had rushed the ball 139 times for 1,406 yards and 18 TDs in the 2018 season before sustaining the injury.
After surgery and rehab, Jones felt like he was ready for his junior season until discomfort and pain still lingering in his leg turned out to be a screw impeding the bone growth.
Another surgery and recovery later, Jones was ready for 2020, as long as the COVID-19 pandemic would let him.
Luckily, Colorado got to play a fall season, and Jones made the most of it more than any other player in the state.
“I’m so thankful to have successfully battled through hard times for myself and everyone around me,” Jones wrote. “The last four years at Fountain-Fort Carson have been a movie and I’m so blessed to represent an amazing community like Fountain.”
And to get in Dartmouth, Jones has proven he can take care of business in the classroom with his 3.8 GPA and plenty of AP or accelerated classes.
“(Jones) does everything right in the classroom, he does everything right on the field and does everything right from a social standpoint,” FFC head coach Jake Novotny said. “He knows that in order for him (to play college football), not only is the playing field part good, but it all matters.
“Everything he does, he has football in mind because he wants to get to the next level.”
Jones will be at that next level for sure now.
Next stop, the Ivy League.
