Abu Sama, WR/DB, Southeast Polk (2023)
Sama by far had the fastest get-up and go burst coming from group 3 on Sunday in Ames. Sama was probably the most impressive kid on both sides of the ball in any group on Sunday. Showed fantastic range and glue hands that he showed off at wide receiver. He played very physical at defensive back and had a big bat whenever he went up for the football. Rapid twitch in his feet when making a turn. Sama is certainly a young prospect that is loaded with potential and will be a next-level player. Sophomore Tape
Kai Black, WR, Urbandale (2023)
Black was another fantastic wide receiver from group #3 in Ames. Black was a wide receiver that caught close to every ball that came near him. A big-bodied wide receiver (6’4, 205) that has the vertical to go up and get it. On film, Black has a solid twist in his hips that’s worth watching when he makes a turn on his route. Runs also a solid stop route. Black could be a sleeper coming out of Urbandale. Sophomore Tape
Landon Hochstein, QB, Norwalk (2022)
I really liked how quick Hochstein released the football on Sunday afternoon in Ames. Hochstein is more of a pocket passer but has the mobility to leave the pocket when needed. In my opinion, Hochstein could be a next-level kid; he just needs to work on his throwing mechanics a little bit. He was the best QB in Group 3 on Sunday. Junior Tape
Blaine Stepanek, DB, Prairie (Cedar Rapids) (2022)
Stepanek was one of the most physical defensive backs I saw all day Sunday. His ability to lock in and stand tough with the bulk of the wide receivers out there was impressive to watch. Stepanek showed a good jamming ability as he used his sizeable frame (6’0, 180) to stay the course in the 1on1 drills. On film, Stepanek’s physical play stands well on tackles, as he creates some pop on the tackles he makes in traffic. Junior Tape
Walker Tart, DB/RB, Dubuque Senior (2023)
Tart took home offensive MVP from Sunday in Ames. Tart showed off model next-level size and caught every ball that came his way. Tart has a shifty twitch in the hips that he demonstrated quite well in the afternoon session. Tart is certainly the next Tart brother to get a college football scholarship. His ceiling is extremely high. Sophomore Tape
Jack Wattier Jack Wattier 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Urbandale | 2022 IA , DB, Urbandalde (2022)
Wattier took home defensive MVP from Sunday in Ames. Wattier was one of the most physical defensive backs of the afternoon. He also has excellent hands and got in front of many balls on Sunday afternoon. His batting ability was fantastic, and he has a rapid twitch in his feet. Wattier on film has solid vision and can high top the football well. Next level safety. Junior Tape
