Derek Paup, TE, Creston (2022)
Paup was by far the most impressive tight end I watched all day in Ames. Paup showed an excellent drive in his footwork while running his routes on Sunday afternoon. His frame was built like a tight end (6’2, 220) but ran like a sizeable wide receiver. The ball stuck to him like glue as he brought in some heavily contested balls going up against one of the deep DB groups I saw in Ames. Paup has some Division I and II interest that I think could be a solid fit in the Missouri Valley. Sophomore Tape
Lonny Melvin, DB/WR, Cedar Rapids Jefferson
Melvin showed an excellent high topping ability on Sunday afternoon. A suitable two-way prospect that could be aligned to be a great defensive back at the next level. Melvin showed off a real quick twitch when reacting to where the football is going as well on Sunday. Melvin could be a sleeper in Iowa, only holding some JUCO interest at the moment. Junior Tape
Dawson Forgy Dawson Forgy 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Winterset | 2022 State IA , RB, Winterset (2022)
Forgy modeled his quick burst off the line drills on Sunday in Ames. I really like this kid’s take-off ability how he has so much giddy-up in his first step off. Forgy does a nice job on film with his vision in between the tackles. Forgy is the definition of all gas, no brakes type running back with Division I FCS interest. I really like how this kid pops to the outside and runs physically to the goal line. Sophomore Tape
Tracy Davis, DB, Norwalk (2022)
Davis’s fantastic foot speed is what drew me in first on Sunday. His ability to jam up wide receivers with somewhat light contact to make them unable to go the way they wanted to was exceptional. Davis was stuck to these receivers like glue and gave up very limited passes in his direction. Davis is a player that, no question, showed off much more grit in coverage than in his junior tape. Davis was named Defensive MVP for the Noon session, and rightfully so, as he definition played like a ranked prospect for Iowa’s next 2022 rankings out of Norwalk. Junior Tape

Hayden Huntley Hayden Huntley 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Waukee Northwest | 2022 State IA , WR, Waukee (2022)
Huntley checked in as one the shiftiest wide receivers I watched in the Noon session. Huntley has a lot of range to go along with that shift in his feet he has. Another great trait Huntley has is using his feet on multiple levels, as you may not know when he’s going to use his twitch in his legs to get some space on a defensive back. Huntley is tough to tackle WR, who is another kid that some are sleeping on from powerhouse Waukee. A fantastic student with a 4.1 GPA. Offensive MVP from the Noon session. Junior Tape

Joe Flannery, WR, Ames (2022)
Flannery was one of the youngest in this group but still made an impression. Flannery’s athletic ability in the way he runs his routes is what stood out most to me from Sunday. Flannery could use a little more twitch in his feet, but this kid has some great potential with a solid vertical and good awareness. Junior Tape

MORE STANDOUTS
Diego Cortes Diego Cortes 5'11" | 215 lbs | DL Bettendorf | 2022 IA , LB, Bettendorf (2022)
Cortes was the definition of a freak athlete at linebacker. On film, Cortes has some great pop in his steps and is a kid that can shed off contact pretty well. Blow up tackler. Junior Tape
Tyler Smith, QB, Sargeant Bluff-Luton (2023)
Smith has some big arm strength that was showed off on Sunday in Ames. Junior Tape
