There are plenty of players that are going D1, and there are some that will make an impact at the DII, DIII, and NAIA level. Here are the top commits out of the class of 2021.
WR Dominic Lovett Dominic Lovett 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR East St. Louis | 2021 State IL
East St. Louis High School
Committed to: Missouri
Although East St. Louis is playing in the spring, Mizzou already knows that they’re receiving one of the top receivers in the Midwest. Lovett is very elusive and can be dangerous whenever he turns up field. The 2020 first team all conference player racked up is a deep threat, and he has the ability to break ankles when he has the ball in his hand. Lovett has tremendous speed and agility and is a major tool for jet sweeps and fade routes. He will be a problem in the SEC conference.
WR Luther Burden Luther Burden 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR East St Louis | 2022 State IL
Cardinal Ritter College Prep
Committed to Oklahoma University
Cardinal Ritter had a decent year during the shambolic 2020 season. With Burden’s athleticism, they were able to win a district championship and make it all the way to the state semifinals. The Sooner commit is an outstanding route runner and a deep threat. With his height, Burden is able to go up and snatch any ball thrown to him. He will be a huge addition to Oklahoma’s talented receiving core. Burden is a key asset for screen plays and is also a huge threat on punt return.
QB Carter Davis Carter Davis 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Eureka | 2021 State MO
Eureka High School
Committed to: Lindenwood University
Davis will be a huge addition to the Lions’ offense. He has a laser arm and great vision. Davis has great patience inside the pocket and hits all of his targets everywhere on the field. Not only he can throw, but he can also run extremely well when nobody is open. For his senior season, Davis finished with 700 passing yards and five touchdowns out of five games. Although this season didn’t go as according to plan, he was still able to finish off on a good note. Davis will be a stud at Lindenwood.
QB Ty Michael Ty Michael 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB O'Fallon | 2021 IL
O’Fallon High School
Committed to: McKendree University
O’Fallon will miss one of the key players on their offense after the spring season. Michael is the definition of a gun slinger. He doesn’t miss any targets. Michael is very consistent with his throws, and is very intelligent on the football field. He can read defensive coverages very well, and he is also able to hit any receiver that’s open. The Bearcats are receiving one of the best quarterbacks in Illinois
WR Kenneth Hamilton Kenneth Hamilton 5'9" | 180 lbs | WR CBC | 2021 MO
CBC
Committed to: Washington University
Wash U has a very talented football program and Hamilton will fit right in with the team. He is gifted with speed and great hands. Hamilton can play the slot position very well, and he can be a huge advantage to Wash U’s dominate passing game. Once Hamilton has the ball, it’s hard to bring him down. With his size, speed, and strength, he will be a force to be reckon with at the next level.
DT Keishon Tinon
Belleville West High School
Committed to: Milikin University
This guy is a big sleeper. Tinon is an elusive defensive linemen who’s a monster in the trenches. He always finds a way to disrupt a play in the backfield. With his size and strength, Tinon will be a huge asset to the Big Blue’s defense. With him being able to maneuver his way into the backfield, this caused quarterbacks to fold, forcing turnovers that was giving Belleville West a high advantage of scoring again. Tinon will do great things at Millikin.
