The class of 2021 signed letters of intent today all over the country and the state of Arkansas was well represented. Over the next few articles, we will look at where the recruits that have drawn division one interest are going as well as look at the best players that remain unsigned at key positions.
Terry Wells Terry Wells 6'4" | 305 lbs | OL Wynne | 2021 State AR -Offensive Line
Signed with Arkansas
Wells is the top recruit out of the state of Arkansas. The young man has good power and is rarely overpowered by opposing defensive linemen. Wells has good footwork for the position and his size at 6-4 and 306 lbs will serve him well in the SEC. Wells is a dominant run blocker and uses his power and quickness well to get into the defenders. One area that the Arkansas staff will work with Wells on is his pass blocking. Under Sam Pittman with the offensive line being such a key unit of the team, Wells will likely see some playing time quickly as Arkansas looks to improve the offensive line.
Dreyden Norwood Dreyden Norwood 6'1" | 175 lbs | DB Fort Smith Northside | 2021 State AR -Cornerback
Signed with Texas A&M
The Fort Smith Northside cornerback signed with the Aggies this morning. Norwood has the speed to cause opposing wide receivers fits. He also has a nose for the football and has no problem wrestling the ball away from the wide receiver. At 6-1 and 175 lbs, Norwood has the size that teams are looking for in the secondary. Norwood is going to see the field in the SEC, but he will likely have the opportunity to redshirt, in order to get a little stronger. Texas A&M coming into Arkansas and snagging Norwood is a big get for the Aggies and he will not disappoint them, Norwood is a playmaker.
Tyas Martin Tyas Martin 6'4" | 315 lbs | DL Jacksonville | 2021 State AR -Defensive Line
Signed with Colorado
Martin is the newest Colorado Buffalo. The 318-pound defensive tackle of Jacksonville will be a good fit for the Colorado defense. Martin is incredibly quick out of the snap and he can disrupt an opponents’ rushing attack by himself. Martin missed some of his senior season with a back injury. However, he should be healthy and ready to play when the 2021 season gets started. Martin is a player that should be able to fit into the Colorado scheme well and possibly see some action next season. The Buffaloes and Martin are on the upswing and PAC-12 offenses are going to have a tough time dealing with them.
Erin Outley Erin Outley 6'4" | 245 lbs | TE Parkview | 2021 State AR -Tight End
Signed with Arkansas
One position the Arkansas Razorbacks needed to fill is the tight end position. Erin Outley Erin Outley 6'4" | 245 lbs | TE Parkview | 2021 State AR out of Parkview High School in Little Rock is in state target that Arkansas placed an emphasis on recruiting. Outley is a good route runner that creates separation from opposing defenders by using his speed. Outley will be a red zone target for the Razorbacks and is someone that can use his height to snag the football. Outley will get stronger and become an effective blocker in Kendall Briles’ offense and he will give the Hogs a versatile player at the tight end position.
Landon Rogers Landon Rogers 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Parkview | 2021 State AR -Quarterback
Signed with Arkansas
Rogers is exactly what the Arkansas coaching staff is looking for in a quarterback. Rogers throws the ball with good accuracy and has a strong arm. He is an intelligent player that knows when to pull the ball down and use his legs to extend drives. Rogers rushed for almost 600 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior in high school. Kendall Briles likes for his quarterbacks to be able to extend the plays and Rogers fits that description to a tee. He will get an opportunity to redshirt and develop. Keeping Rogers in Arkansas was coup for the Arkansas coaching staff and will keep recruiting momentum going for Pittman and his staff.
