Cookie Desiderio, Somerville: Somerville knew how to score points, and it was a reason the Pioneers went undefeated. Desiderio was unstoppable at times. A dynamic player in the backfield, he ran for 1,569 yards and 26 touchdowns on 152 carries. He also caught 14 passes for 310 yards and two additional TDs. Desiderio totaled 196 points on the season.
Audric Estime Audric Estime 6'1" | RB St. Joe's Montvale | 2021 State NJ , St. Joseph (Mont.): Estime’s size, power and aggressive running led him to a remarkable season. Arguably the top running back in the state, the Michigan State commit ran for 1,857 yards and 22 touchdowns on 190 carries. He also caught two TDs. Estime was unstoppable for much of this season, and he will look to continue his onslaught in the Big 10 Conference.
Patrick Smith Patrick Smith 5'11" | RB Holy Spirit | 2021 State NJ , Holy Spirit: Along with Estime, Smith will be playing for a Power 5 team next season at the collegiate level. Smith had a tremendous season for Holy Spirit on its way to an undefeated record. He racked up 1,719 rushing yards and 16 TDs. He could have went for 2,000 yards if not limited in the season finale. Smith ran for 200-plus yards in every game but three. That included a 362-yard showing against Cedar Creek, and 333 yards in a meeting with Vineland.
Josh Toner Josh Toner 6'3" | OL Cherokee | 2021 State NJ , Cherokee: Toner, a James Madison commit, was strong for Cherokee on both sides. He was a top blocker and also made an impact defensively with a number of tackles for loss.
Geno VanDeMark Geno VanDeMark 6'4" | OL St. Joe's Montvale | 2021 State NJ , St. Joseph (Mont.): VanDeMark will be joining Estime at Michigan State next year. A top offensive lineman, the 6-foot-5, 300-pouder helped Estime find holes along the right side all season.
Xavier Coleman Xavier Coleman 5'10" | RB Lenape | 2021 State NJ , Lenape: Coleman, a Boston College pledge, was a top weapon on both ends for a Lenape team that really made an impact in South Jersey. Whether it was rushing, receiving, making sacks, tackling or getting interceptions, Coleman made an impact all season.
Ali Lee Jr. Ali Lee Jr. 5'11" | ATH Woodbridge | 2021 State NJ , Woodbridge: Lee was excellent in the backfield for the Barrons this season. A Stony Brook commit, Lee ran for 1,161 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added two receiving scores and he also had interceptions and scored on a kick return. Lee carried for over 200 yards in wins over Scotch Plains-Fanwood, Cranford and Parsippany Hills.
Bhayshul Tuten, Paulsboro: Tuten led unbeaten Paulsboro with 1,229 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He scored five rushing TDs and accumulated 250 yards on just 15 carries in a shutout win over Haddon Heights. Tuten scored four receiving TDs as well and made an impact on defense and special teams.
Jai Patel, South Brunswick: Patel is recognized as one of the top kickers in the country. The South Brunswick specialist made all 28 extra-point attempts and was almost perfect on field goal attempts, with his lone miss coming on a 56-yard attempt. He had some booming punts and also had 20 touchbacks on kickoffs.
