This list will feature the top-five passers in the state in terms of yardage from the 2020 season. It is important to highlight Bound Brook’s Patrick LePoidevin Patrick LePoidevin 6'4" | QB Bound Brook | 2022 NJ who did not crack the yardage list but finished third in the state in touchdown passes with 22.
1. Dean DeNobile (2022) | Morris Catholic
2020: 169-for-268, 2,301 yards, 24 touchdowns
DeNobile was a force from the first game of the season. He threw for 300 yards in three different games and turned in his best performance in the final game of the season. DeNobile threw for 284 yards and six touchdowns in the finale against Whippany Park.
2. Dario Bryant (2021) | Cedar Grove
2020: 127-for-224, 1,850 yards, 25 touchdowns
Bryant was the state’s leader in touchdown passes finishing with two or more in every game this season. He threw a season-high five touchdowns in wins over Scotch Plains-Fanwood and Madison. Cedar Grove kept the ball in the hands of their quarterback a ton this season and it paid off.
3. Frankie Garbolino (2023) | North Brunswick
2020: 124-for-415, 1,685 yards, 17 touchdowns
Garbolino took a huge step as a sophomore throwing for 200 or more yards five times this season. He took over as a leader within the offense and showed that North Brunswick has a star for years to come.
4. Michael Miller (2023) | Somerville
2020: 96-for-155, 1,600 yards, 17 touchdowns
Miller shined from Week 1 leading Somerville to a 7-0 record. He had one of the games of the year completing 24 of 38 passes for 465 yards and three touchdowns against Summit. He threw just three interceptions all season long because of his elite decision making.
5. Chris Evans (2021) | Parsippany Hills
2020: 134-for-213, 1,519 yards, 17 touchdowns
Evans stepped into his senior season looking to lead Parsippany Hills and that is exactly what he did. He proved to be a quarterback who could make any throw on the field and he did it over the course of the entire season.

Sean Driscoll (2022) | Audubon: 91-for-160, 1,503 yards, 16 touchdowns
Jayden Young (2023) | St. Thomas Aquinas: 90-for-180, 1,487 yards, 16 touchdowns
Andrew Butler Andrew Butler 6'4" | QB DePaul Catholic | 2021 State NJ (2021) | DePaul: 103-for-163, 1,454 yards, 11 touchdowns
Chad Martini (2021) | Watchung Hills: 120-for-185, 1,430 yards, 10 touchdowns
