River Ridge (11-0) defeated Rome (8-4) to advance to the state quarterfinals for the first time in program history. The Knights continued their historic run with the help of a few standout players on both sides. Rome’s season came to an end with the Wolves’ closing the career of an elite running back.
Jackson Head, WR/TE, Class of 2023
River Ridge
Head finished with four receptions for a game-high 92 yards. It was his first-quarter 27-yard touchdown, however, which set the tone for the entire contest. Head (6’3”, 210) is having a breakout sophomore campaign and should be flying up the prospect boards. On the season he’s totaled 31 receptions for 567 yards (18.2 average) with five touchdowns. Head has excellent size and strength and with ball skills like this it’s a wonder how he hasn’t drawn more college offers.
WOW!
Lathem to @JacksonHead13 for the River Ridge score.
I’ve been tweeting about this kid since last year. Only a sophomore. #BEASTMODE @RR_Knights 7@FootballRome 0

Brian Bradley, DL, Class of 2022
River Ridge
Once again, Bradley looked like the best defensive player on the field.
Bradley wreaked havoc in the passing game and against the run on Friday night and — along with Head — should be rising quickly up recruiter’s boards. Bradley already possesses an excellent frame (6’3″, 220) but his quickness off the line and ability to shed blocks continues to impress.
An excellent student, Bradley has drawn Ivey League attention and now holds an offer from Presbyterian College. An all-around player along the defensive line (103 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and six sacks this season), Bradley is arguably the most under-the-radar pass rusher in the Class of 2022.
People are gonna know this kid’s name soon @BrianBradley2nd with the sack

Amehre Morrison, RB, Class of 2022
River Ridge
Head and the other River RIdge receivers have enjoyed success this season and a large part of this is due to the attention given to Morrison. The leading rusher in AAAAAA continued his outstanding season last Friday, totaling 116 yards on 25 carries along with 56 yards on four receptions. He scored three touchdowns, bringing his season totals to 1,833 rushing yards with 28 touchdowns to go along with 23 receptions for 255 yards.
Morrison is a constant threat to break free and has shown the toughness to carry the load for his team this season. Has drawn interest from Georgia Southern and should start to see more offers this offseason.

Andrew Bingham, ATH, Class of 2022
River Ridge
Bingham is likely the most versatile athlete on River Ridge’s roster. The dynamic junior lines up as running back, wide receiver and in the slot. He helped secure the Knights’ victory on Friday with his 19-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and tallied 54 yards on 11 carries along with two receptions for 21 yards.
Bingham has quietly been one of the most productive players in Cherokee County this season and with another season of high school football ahead of him, expect to see further development and increased college attention.
This has been a thorough, dominant performance by River Ridge.
Andrew Bingham scores his second of the game.

E.J. Lackey, RB, Class of 2021
Rome
Lackey was the focal point for Rome’s offense all season long and did his best to carry the Wolves on Friday. The senior back finished lead Rome in both rushing and receiving, finishing with 87 yards on 15 carries along with five receptions for 16 yards. Lackey’s 1-yard touchdown plunge in the second quarter helped Rome back into the game briefly but it was all River Ridge would allow. Lackey (5’10”, 185) has drawn attention from a number of colleges including Kennesaw State, Reinhardt University and Stetson University.
