This year’s recruiting cycle has been impacted some by the fact the playoffs are still in full swing in Texas due to Covid-19, making some athletes push back their decision and focus on the task at hand. But, we still had plenty of talented football players sign today from many East Texas programs. Signing day is always an exciting day full of joy and dreams realized, let’s take a look at the list of the 2021 class to make it official.
(Kybo) Kybrien Jamerson Kybrien Jamerson 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Longview | 2021 TX (2021 LB, Longview -> UAB Blazers) Jamerson is a playmaker that has a knack for making disruptive plays, creating 8 TFL, 3 sacks, 2 FF, 4 FR, 2 PBU, blocked punt, and a defensive TD. Kybo has great burst and is so powerful, he sheds would-be blockers with ease before wreaking ball carriers and QBs.

Jordan Jenkins Jordan Jenkins 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Lindale | 2021 TX (2021 RB, Lindale -> Baylor Bears) Jordan’s large 6’2, 200-pound frame wears down opponents, and like most great backs, he seems to find another gear late in games. The game looks easy to Jordan as he possesses great balance and vision, for being a larger back he is light on his feet and legit speed.

Trevion Sneed Trevion Sneed 6'1" | 235 lbs | DL Mineola | 2021 TX (2021 DE/RB, Mineola -> SMU Mustangs) This two way star is likely to retire his RB cleats and focus on defense. At Mineola he had staggering stats on both sides of the ball, with 144 tackles/11TFL/3 sacks on defense, and over 3000 yards with 36 TDs on offense. Great explosion and strength, I will be watching SMU for years to come just to see this young man play more.

Jackson Anderson Jackson Anderson 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Mineola | 2021 TX (2021 OL, Mineola -> Colorado) This 6’4, 290 lb kid is a mauler with great feet, and Mineola uses this to lead their dynamic rushing attack. Jackson pulls with ease and doesn’t get caught up in the trash, plus he is a violent finisher.
Proud to have him as a Buff 😤

Lyrik Rawls Lyrik Rawls 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Jefferson | 2021 TX (2021 FS, Marshall -> Oklahoma State) Rawls is equipped with plenty of natural ability, but his attitude puts his game over the top. Great speed and range in coverage, but an absolute hammer in run support, better have your head on a swivel around this kid.

Clayton Smith Clayton Smith 6'4" | 230 lbs | LB Texas | 2021 State TX (2021 Edge Rusher, Texarkana -> Oklahoma University) All the treats of a true edge rusher and extremely athletic. Great bend and explosion of the line that will help OU’s pass rush in a pass-happy Big12.
Caleb Arnold (2021 FS, Texarkana -> Lamar University) This young man is a ball-hawking safety that loves contact. Played WR as well because of his great speed and soft hands, Arnold is going to be a great addition to Lamar’s defense.

Marcus Burris Marcus Burris 6'4" | 270 lbs | DL Pleasant Grove | 2021 TX (2021 DE, Pleasant Grove -> Texas A&M) A man amongst boys as a junior that completely dominated on the field, but has shown great resolve and grit his senior year while sitting out with an Achilles injury. Texas A&M stuck by his side through the injury and neither side ever waivered. Burris is a legit SEC West talent with a complete toolset both on and off the field.

Landon Jackson Landon Jackson 6'6" | 245 lbs | DL Pleasant Grove | 2021 TX (2021 DE, Pleasant Grove -> LSU) Another beast from this powerhouse program that plays violent on the defensive line, and another signee of a SEC West team. Jackson’s strength makes it easy to shed blocks and his speed helps him finish plays out all over the field, he is a high motor kid.

Nick Martin Nick Martin 6'1" | 210 lbs | ATH Pleasant Grove | 2021 TX (2021 LB, Pleasant Grove -> Oklahoma State) Speed kills, especially when it’s followed by violence. Martin has special speed and explosion, and goodness, he is not afraid of contact. Take a peek at the clip below from the Twitter announcement… good luck Big12 offenses.

Luke Watson Luke Watson 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Gilmer | 2021 TX (2021 LB, Gilmer -> Stephen F. Austin) Luke is as solid as they come at a tough position, and when you watch his tape you see a tough, technically sound player. Luke does a great job finishing plays by wrapping up and driving through the tackle, he is solid against the run and dangerous off the edge as a pass rusher.

Wilburn Smallwood Wilburn Smallwood 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL Lufkin | 2021 TX (2021 DE, Lufkin -> Stephen F. Austin) Great combination of speed and strength, when you watch Smallwood there is nothing small about his style of play. He possesses a great bull rush, but can also show great bend as a pass rusher. Solid pickup for the Lumberjacks!

Darion Peace (2021 LB, Malakoff -> Lamar University) It’s not often your quarterback is also the leader on defense laying some serious wood, but Peace dis just that for Malakoff. Obviously, a smart kid since he ran the offense and was a standout on defense as well, he also has great speed and closing ability. Really surprising to watch tape of a young man that plays QB and see such a violent finisher, Peace is a strong leader on and off the field.

Dre’Lyn Washington Dre’Lyn Washington 5'8" | 210 lbs | RB Hemphill | 2021 TX (2021 RB, Hemphill -> Louisiana) Washington is strong and does not get phased by would-be arm tacklers. The thing that is fun about watching his tape is that once he runs through a few, he still has the speed to leave the rest of the pack behind. Great mix of power, speed, and balance… another weapon for the Ragin Cajuns as they continue to build an impressive program.
