The committee came up with five, five-team divisions and three, six-team divisions for the 43 teams in the Shore Conference for football.
A six-game schedule plus two pod games will take place, and there will be plans for a Shore Conference championship as well. The 2021 schedule will likely be released in January.
The American Division will feature a number of teams that performed very well in 2020 and have been successful the last few years. Toms River North, Colts Neck, Donovan Catholic, Rumson-Fair Haven and Wall make up the American Division. Wall finished this past season undefeated, Rumson-Fair Haven had a 6-2 record and Donovan Catholic and Colts Neck were both 7-1. Toms River North is the lone Group 5 team, Donovan Catholic is Non-Public Group 3, Colts Neck is a Group 4 school and Wall and Rumson-Fair Haven are Group 3 schools.
Holmdel (Group 3), Southern (Group 5) and Mater Dei Prep (Non-Public Group 2) are the top teams in the Colonial Division. They’ll be joined by Group 5 school Manalapan, Group 4 Jackson Memorial and Group 4 Middletown South.
Red Bank Catholic (Non-Public Group 3), Ocean Township (Group 3), Raritan (Group 3), Red Bank Regional (Group 3) and Manasquan (Group 2) will make up the Constitution Division.
The Freedom Division will feature a number of Group 4 schools. Group 4 Freehold Borough, Toms River South, Long Branch and Toms River East will join Non-Public Group 3 St. John Vianney in that division.
The Independence Division will have Group 5 Howell, Group 4 Brick Memorial, Brick Township and Middletown North and Group 3 Lacey. Lacey was the lone team to finish over .500 in 2020.
The Liberty Division will include Group 5 Freehold Township and Marlboro, Group 4 Central Regional and Neptune and Group 3 Matawan.
In the Patriot Division, Group 3 Manchester Township and Jackson Liberty will join Group 2 members Barnegat, Point Pleasant Boro and Shore and Group 1 Asbury Park.
In the National Division, Group 4 Lakewood, Group 3 Pinelands and Monmouth and Group 1 Keansburg, Keyport and Point Pleasant Beach will make up the division.
