The Owls have numerous players that are going to graduate in 2022 that will contribute to the team on both sides of the ball. We will give a brief look at some of the of the players that the Owls will be depending upon next season. The Owls have sights set on another deep playoff run for the 2021 season.
Jody Easter Jody Easter 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB McGehee | 2022 State AR -Running back/Safety
Easter excels at two positions for the Owls. He is a very shifty runner who displays excellent patience when it comes to allowing a rushing lane to develop. Easter has shown that he can create big plays in the passing game as well. He uses his speed and steady route running to get open and create separation from the defensive back. Meanwhile, from the defensive back perspective, Easter is a solid tackler. He will not shy away from contact. Easter does a good job of sticking with opposing wide receivers and he is always looking to make plays on the football. The Owls will be looking for Easter to have a big season in 2021.
AJ Jordan AJ Jordan 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR McGehee | 2022 State AR -Defensive back/Wide Receiver
What I love about the Owls is just how every player is so versatile. The versatility is what makes McGehee a dangerous football team to contend. From the wide receiver perspective, Jordan is a good athlete that can go up and high point the football. Jordan has the speed to keep opposing defensive backs off balance. What sets him apart on both sides of the ball is how well he uses his hands. Jordan will not drop passes that he should catch. On the defensive side of the ball, Jordan does a good job of making opposing wide receivers work for the football and he is a solid tackler.
Samuel Polite Samuel Polite 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB McGehee | 2022 State AR -Running Back
Samuel Polite Samuel Polite 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB McGehee | 2022 State AR is one of those running backs that can shred you in the rushing or the passing game. He is a dangerous wide receiver, and he plays with good instincts. When the quarterback is in trouble, Polite will always work his way back to the quarterback for an easier completion. Polite will not go down on initial contact. Polite does a good job of allowing the rushing lane to develop. He trusts his blockers and does a good job of following his blockers. Polite knows when to make the cuts and he is just a very instinctive running back.
Jackson Cox Jackson Cox 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR McGehee | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver
Cox is a wide receiver that can stretch the field for the Owls. Cox uses his route running well to create separation from the defender. He has proven to be an unselfish player; he helps open up the rushing lane for his teammates. The potential that Cox has is impressive and I would expect him to have a big 2021 season for the Owls. Cox will give the Owls a big play threat in the passing game, however he can be used in the rushing game. He gives the Owls another weapon at the skill positions.
Channing Woodson Channing Woodson 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB McGehee | 2022 State AR -Running back/Linebacker
Woodson packs a punch at both the running back and linebacker positions. Woodson is a power back that has the habit of carrying defenders with him as he picks up yardage. However, Woodson is a patient running back and he will allow rushing lanes to develop. Meanwhile, at the linebacker position, Woodson rarely misses tackles, and he has a nose for the football. He lives in the offensive backfield and is extremely disruptive. Woodson displays strong potential on both sides of the ball and he should do well for the Owls this upcoming season.
