ATH: Hunter Crew, Lebanon HS, 6’4, 205
Lebanon HS has a very talented football team. Hunter is a big part of what they do. Hunter is a three sport athlete, also participating in basketball and track. This prospect is being designated as an ATH, because he plays TE, LB and is an easy projection to defensive end. His film is very fun to watch. He plays with great energy, excitement and he is a fluid mover on both sides of the ball. He does a fine job in run support and has the natural skills and movement ability to rush the passer. He is a talented, energic and exciting prospect.
DL: Isaiah Street, Brownsburg HS, 6’5, 210
Isaiah is a three-sport athlete. He also plays rugby, and has been a state championship qualifier in wrestling. Thinking back to August, Brownsburg opened their season against Ben Davis. Those are two talented, well-coached football teams. I remember thinking Isaiah was the best prospect on the football field. He has fine size, and he will only continue to get bigger and stronger. He is good in run support, and he is an extremely talented pass rusher with a natural knack of getting to the QB. Isaiah projects very well to the collegiate level as a defensive end who can stop the run and provide an outstanding pass rush.
DL: Beau Brown, Mishawaka HS, 6’2, 235
Beau also plays for Mishawaka’s basketball team. This past season, Beau was named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association’s “All Junior” team. This prospect has fine size and plays with great aggression and power. Beau can stop the run and he can rush the passer. Prep Redzone is of the opinion that Beau is an outstanding prospect for an even front defense. He can play defensive end. He also projects to being able to kick inside on passing downs and really get after the quarterback. This prospect will only continue to get bigger and stronger. He is also very tough and plays with a lot of pride.
DL: Danny Royster, Lawrence North HS, 6’4, 210
Danny is a three sport athlete. He is a member of the track team, and is also a part of the rotation of perhaps the most talented basketball team in the state of Indiana. Danny is a high, high-level athlete. I was able to watch many LN football games this past season. The majority of the time, I thought Danny might be the most talented defensive player on the field. He is a stand-up linebacker in Lawrence North’s defense. Prep Redzone, at this time, will project Danny to the DL. We expect him to be a three-down defensive end. However, when watching the tape, there really isn’t a reason why you can’t project this prospect as an odd front linebacker. Prospects like this “don’t grow on trees”, and from a football perspective, it’s all in front of Danny.
DL: DeJuan Echoles, Warren Central HS, 6’2, 225
DeJuan is also a member of a talented Warren Central basketball team. DeJuan has been a fixture for the Warriors’ defense since his SOPH season. DeJuan has rotated between being utilized as a linebacker as well as a defensive end. This prospect can rush the passer and stop the run. He has an uncanny ability to create turnovers. He has a natural leverage and power advantage against his competition, and he goes against some of the best competition in the state on a weekly basis. DeJuan is the type of player, from an opposition perspective, that you need to have a “plan” for, or he will cause some problems. He is very explosive and still has a lot of upside. DeJuan plays very hard and has raw, natural power. He projects to both an even or odd front.
DL: Thomas Urban, Harrison HS, 6’1, 240
Harrison HS had an outstanding football season. They feature many talented football players, and Thomas is one of those prospects. Thomas also participates in track. Similar to DeJuan, this prospect has rotated between playing linebacker and defensive end. Thomas plays with great balance, toughness, and tenacity. He has a natural leverage advantage against his opponent and is outstanding at stopping the run. It is not easy to run against this prospect. This prospect also has upside as a pass rusher. Thomas is on track to be a very valuable contributor for a college football program. He plays like the game is very important to him, and he demonstrates great on-field leadership skills. He also plays with outstanding eyes, intelligence, and awareness.
LB: Spencer Barta, Lowell HS, 6’3, 215
If you live in the town of Lowell, or play for Lowell’s football team, you cannot be designated with the label of being “soft.” Prep Redzone can confirm that Spencer Barta is not soft. Spencer plays linebacker, and his junior year hi-lite tape approaches 14 minutes in length. Spencer is about as productive and tough as it gets at the high school level. This prospect is an outstanding-sized linebacker with a natural ability to make plays. He sees the football, and then he goes and gets the football. On film, he appears like an “old school throwback” pure middle linebacker. We can also project Spencer as a defensive end, and college football programs will be lining up to work with and evaluate Spencer. His toughness, attitude, and skill level projects to both even and odd fronts. He is the pulse of his football team. It is hard to find prospects that are this tough and this productive.
