Continue ReadingThe 2022 senior class is one of the most talented ones that observers have seen in a few years. We already discussed how talented the offensive line group is in the class of 2022. With several division one prospects near the top of the 2022 class it is going to be easy to find playmakers throughout the wide receiver position grouping for the 2022 class. We are going to take an early look at guys that are going to be well known in just a few months.
Kicking things off with Florida State commit, Quincey McAdoo Quincey McAdoo 6'3" | 175 lbs | WR Clarendon | 2022 State AR . The Clarendon High School staff has done an excellent job of making McAdoo a threat to score from anywhere on the field. He has the ability to high point the football and is a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks to cover. McAdoo does not drop passes and he uses his size and speed well to create separation. The potential McAdoo has to play on Saturdays is high and he will be a fun prospect to watch this coming season.
Isaiah Sategna Isaiah Sategna 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2022 State AR is the wide receiver that possess great speed to go along with terrific route running. The Fayetteville High School wide receiver works well in the slot or on the outside. Sategna has the type of speed that translates well to deep routes or intermediate routes. The bottom line on Sategna is that even a short route can turn into an explosive play. He had 823 yards and eight touchdowns in just eight games of action this season. Sategna has the potential to be an explosive player on Saturdays in the fall. His recruiting will be interesting. Sategna has already earned over 15 scholarship offers and the recruiting process will be an interesting one to watch for the Fayetteville Bulldog.
Arkadelphia’s Jaishon Davis Jaishon Davis 6'2" | 200 lbs | ATH Arkadelphia | 2022 State AR plays all over the field. However, he is 6-2 and has the frame to be productive division one wide receiver. Davis is a physical wide receiver; the first hit will rarely bring him down. The Arkansas State and Kanas coaching staffs have plenty to evaluate from two positions. From a receiver standpoint Davis is physical, he can fight off defensive back with little trouble. His hands are good, and he always seems to find a way to get open for his quarterback. Davis has the speed to create separation from the defensive back and can turn a short passing play into a long one. The recruiting for Davis is going to be interesting because of his versatility. Davis has plenty of division one potential at both the wide receiver and running back positions.
Meanwhile, in Crossett, Dewayne Ashford Dewayne Ashford 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Crossett | 2022 State AR exploded on to the recruiting scene as a sophomore. In his sophomore season, Ashford racked up 34 receptions for 897 yards and 11 touchdowns. He can go up and snag the football with ease, which makes him difficult for opposing defensive backs to cover. Ashford fights for extra yardage and is rarely brought down on initial contact. He has good speed for the position and can use his speed to create separation from defenders. Ashford has the potential to have a huge 2021 season and his recruiting is going to be an interesting one to watch over the next few months.
Closing out the first article over wide receivers with Conway’s Manny Smith Manny Smith 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Conway | 2022 State AR . Smith has excellent speed and is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. Conway has put Smith in the slot as well as given him some carries at the running back position. Smith runs impressive routes and his impressive speed easily creates separation. Smith has already earned an offer from Arkansas Baptist and his recruiting is just beginning to heat up. At 5-7, opposing corners attempt to get physical with Smith, but that has backfired because of how quickly Smith can get into his routes.
