All of the big time playmakers in 3A can definitely compete at higher schools, which should draw some much deserved attention. Take a look at 5 uncommitted 3A kids with offers who can produce at the next level:
Howard Russell Howard Russell 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Phoenix Christian | 2021 State AZ , ATH, 6’1″ 190lbs, Phoenix Christian HS
Russell was easily the most dominant player in 3A and holds big position versatility for the next level. As a ball carrier, he shows excellent top end speed with a massive speed separation from opponents. He has excellent lateral mobility and is explosive out of his cuts, frequently springing him loose for long TD’s. Excellent vision to cutback or shoot through small gaps, and has good physicality overall with a mean stiff arm and runs through arm tackles. As a receiver, he has shown the ability to high point and win contested balls, and displays solid body control all around. On defense, Russell was a ball hawk with 6 INT’s as he reads the QB and breaks on the ball very well. He doesn’t come off the field as he returns kicks and punts and has also taken them to the house. He will be an absolute steal wherever he ends up, and currently holds offers from Eastern New Mexico and Arizona Christian.
Jack Ricedorff Jack Ricedorff 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB American Leadership Academy (Gilbert) | 2021 State AZ , QB, 6’2″ 200lbs, American Leadership Academy-Gilbert North
Ricedorff is a level above most 3A QB’s. He shows the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws with solid timing. He has a fluid throwing motion with good velocity to fit in tight window throws on intermediate routes. He moves well in the pocket while going through progression and shows a quick release. Ricedorff does a good job of distinguishing whether to use velocity vs touch. He has a high football IQ and identifies coverages well. He is a physical ball carrier and posed as a legit threat on the ground at the high school level, making him a solid dual-threat QB. He is a definite high D2-FCS level prospect, and has shown to draw interest from Montana via social media.
Brannon Weatherby Brannon Weatherby 6'2" | 260 lbs | OL Yuma Catholic | 2021 State AZ , OL, 6’3″ 265lbs, Yuma Catholic HS
Weatherby was the 3A lineman of the year, and holds massive potential. He is an absolute warrior in the trenches with aggressiveness and power. He shows a strong base with an athletic top half. He does an excellent job getting leverage on opponents, racking up the pancakes. Weatherby does a good job getting to the second level when needed and frequently wins one on one blocks in the open field. He switches well and picks up stunts effectively. He transitions weight room strength to the field, and will be a big NAIA level prospect to land. He holds notable offers from Ottawa (AZ), Southwest Baptist, Nebraska Wesleyan, and Arizona Christian.
Evan Lovett Evan Lovett 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Pusch Ridge Christian | 2021 State AZ , RB, 6’1″ 210lbs, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy
Lovett dominated 3A football. Built with an athletic frame, he shows excellent vision with very good balance, as he does not go down if he’s not wrapped up. He’s displayed an ideal combination of speed, physicality, and shiftiness for an all-purpose back. Lovett shows good physicality at the point of contact which frequently breaks him loose for big plays. He can stop and cut laterally on a dime and make opponents miss in open space. He does a great job in the pass game, as he can run routes from the backfield or split out wide or in the slot. He does a solid job of getting upfield after the catch and was a constant big play treat in 3A. He would be solid fit at the D2 level, and holds offers from Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico.
Mark Wren Mark Wren 5'1" | 190 lbs | QB Thatcher | 2021 State AZ , RB, 6’1″ 190lbs, Thatcher HS
Wren showed good 2nd level speed for big play ability, constantly breaking off long runs for TD’s or big gains. He has good vision all around, and showcased his lateral mobility often to cut and weave through opponents. He accelerates through open lanes and does a great job trusting his speed instead of hesitating to cut. He is an explosive back all around and was a legit game hanger at the 3A level. Wren displayed solid physicality and balance between the tackles, and met contact with a good pad level. Wren was just offered by Lake Forrest College on January 14th, and is a solid D3 prospect to get in touch with.
