However, there are some upcoming players that have shown the potential to have a breakout upcoming season that have been quiet in hype. Don’t be surprised to see these guys put up big numbers. Take a look at 5 RB’s to get on your radar:
Lucas Tuski Lucas Tuski 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Marist | 2022 State OR , 6’0″ 215lbs, Marist HS (C/O 2022)
Tuski is a fairly balanced back overall. He has an athletic build with a strong lower half to drive opponents and keep the run alive. He has shown solid balance and physicality, frequently bouncing off or running through opponents. He could improve his initial burst, but had displayed good second level speed for a sophomore last season. Tuski was very effective in the screen game, frequently getting upfield quickly for big gains. He has flashed legit big play ability, and has the potential to bust loose this upcoming season.
Brycen Indell Brycen Indell 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Willamette | 2022 State OR , 6’0″ 210lbs, Willamette HS (C/O 2022)
Indell shows a strong, athletic build and is a good athlete all around. He is patient for holes to develop, then accelerates once he sees an open lane. Indell is a downhill runner with solid physicality, as he is frequently racking up extra yards after contact. He does a good job reading and cutting off his blocks, and shows efficient overall speed once he gets into open space. He could improve pad level between the tackles, but is still very effective. Definitely a sleeper to get on your radar.
Lucas Graves, 5’9″ 160lbs, Wilsonville HS (C/O 2021)
Graves is your shifty, jittery type of back. He shows a solid initial burst with acceleration through the hole. He has excellent lateral agility and change of direction, making it difficult to bring him down one on one. Graves has shown solid short area quickness with a twitchy, jittery movement. He could add physicality, but overall does a great job using his athleticism to make plays. Graves could potentially transition into a slot at the next level.
Blake Wolters, 5’8″ 185lbs, Heppner HS (C/O 2021)
Wolters is a north-south type back that can wear down a defense. He shows solid vision with a low pad level through the hole, and can slip through even the smallest lanes. Despite his size, Wolters displays solid physicality overall and is a bruiser to bring down. He has a strong lower half with excellent balance, frequently bouncing off opponents and springing him into the second level. He has good short area quickness and showed solid flashes of breaking outside runs for big gains, but did his best work between the tackles.
Luke Roberts, 6’2″ 200lbs, Mountain View HS (C/O 2021)
Roberts is a wild card, meaning you never know what position he will end up at. As a RB, Roberts shows good vision and solid physicality. He finishes runs and punishes his opponents. He is more of a north-south type back, but has shown to be effective while stretching the edge at the high school level. He has shown flashes of solid lateral bounce to cut and change direction without decelerating. He is a very good football player all around, and could develop into a solid power back.
