All- Uncommitted Team: Offense
In this article:
We are deep into the recruiting process for the class of 2021 and dozens of seniors have announced their commitment to the teams they plan to attend in the fall. Despite the amount of talent already announcing their commitments, there is still a ton of talent left for colleges to snatch up this winter and early spring. In today’s article I want to see the potential team we can build by just using players from Wisconsin that remain uncommitted. This is going to be a two part series. Today I will dive into the best remaining offense that we can build with uncommitted recruits and tomorrow we will do the defensive side of the ball. For each article I will also include a player in the Athlete category. So in the end, there will be 12 uncommitted players in each article and a quick scouting report on each one. Let’s dive into it and see who is still available out there in Wisconsin!
Quarterback
Caden Nelson Caden Nelson 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Waunakee | 2021 State WI , 6’3″ 200- Waunakee
Caden has so much to offer a team. He has a great frame and a cannon coming out of his right shoulder. Caden can get the ball to anywhere on the field with a good amount of velocity to beat closing defenders. He isn’t just launching bombs when he drops back either. Caden has excellent accuracy and can fit the ball into tight windows underneath and drop it into a bucket on deep throws. Then add in his ability to threaten defenses with his legs and you get a QB that looks ready for the next level. The crazy part is he has shown all of this off in his junior film as he won’t play his senior season until this coming spring. He is going to go off and I suggest pursuing him hard now before every school in the area is lining up for his services.
Running Backs
Kabaris Vasser Kabaris Vasser 6'2" | 220 lbs | RB James Madison Memorial | 2021 State WI , 6’2″ 220- Madison Memorial
I can’t believe Vasser is still available. I have been digging into it and everything tells me he still is though. Kabaris is an intimidating presence in the backfield and his play matches the eye test. His contact balance makes him extremely difficult to bring down without the entire defense there to help. His leg drive constantly keeps him moving downfield until he is on the ground. Kabaris isn’t just a power back. He has plenty of speed once he gets in the open field to make the defense pay if they give him any sort of daylight. Kabaris is one of the best overall players still available in the 2021 class. A team is going to get a stud when they land him.
Colin Trautt Colin Trautt 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Northwestern | 2021 State WI , 6’1″ 195- Northwestern
The Crazylegs Hirsch Award Semi- Finalist is going to be a big time contributor for the program that he chooses down the road. He has good size for the RB position, and his frame looks like it could handle even more. Colin’s patience, vision, and acceleration are what make him such a dangerous RB prospect. He has shown off the ability to let his blocks develop, find the seam, and then fly through it over and over in his film. Once he gets into the open field Colin can make defenders in the secondary miss or he has no problem lowering the shoulder and getting physical.
Wide Receivers
Kameron Lee Kameron Lee 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Indian Trail | 2021 State WI , 6’3″ 200- Indian Trail
We have a pair of teammates here in the receiver category. The first up is Kameron Lee Kameron Lee 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Indian Trail | 2021 State WI . Kameron has elite size for an outside receiver. He actually showed off a lot of versatility this past fall as he lined up as an inline TE quite a bit to go along with playing out wide. Not to mention his work as a defensive back. Lee’s athleticism for his size is special. His size and strength was too much for defensive backs to handle and it let to them having to give him a lot of cushion off the line. Kameron showed off the ability to eat up that cushion quickly putting the pressure on the DB. From there he either used his suddenness to create separation or his size to simply box out defenders. Once he got the ball in his hands he was a handful to try and bring down. His play strength was a game changer for him. I’m very confident that Kameron is the best senior receiver available in the state.
Raymone Jones Raymone Jones 6'2" | 215 lbs | DB Indian Trail | 2021 State WI , 6’2″ 215- Indian Trail
The player who challenges Kameron for best available at the receiver position is his teammate Raymone Jones Raymone Jones 6'2" | 215 lbs | DB Indian Trail | 2021 State WI . Jones brings a frame that looks like it could already be playing on Saturdays. From the first snap of his senior highlights you can see that Raymone is an exceptional athlete. He eats up cushion and leaves DBs in his dust. WRs with that size that are also field stretchers don’t grow on trees. His concentration at the catch point to haul in passes in traffic or even with one hand jumps off his tape as well. Not to mention that as a defensive back he can both cover receivers and deliver hits that you wake up feeling the next day. A team is going to get an impactful player when they land this commitment.
Tight End
Garrett Gillette Garrett Gillette 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE Mukwonago | 2021 State WI , 6’5″ 225- Mukwonago
Garrett is an FBS level talent. His size/athleticism/strength combination is special. The body control he plays with already is wild to watch and as it develops further should make him an impact player for a team at the highest level of college football. Garrett shows off the skill set of a complete TE too. He isn’t just a big receiver. His blocking ability is game changing as well. Whether it is downfield or on the line of scrimmage Gillette has shown that he can consistently make key blocks to break big plays. As a receiver, Garrett is a natural hands catcher. He uses his immense frame to create separation and once he gets the ball he is hard to corral and even harder to bring down.
Offensive Line
Evan Ladwig Evan Ladwig 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL Plymouth | 2021 State WI , 6’5″ 270- Plymouth
Evan could be apart of either of these articles because he has also shown that he could be a very good defensive lineman. I do believe he will play his college ball on the offensive side though, so that is where he comes in. Evan is a dominant force at the guard position. He has shown a complete game for the position too. He has one of the strongest anchors in pass protection that you will find, he can pull and lead through gaps in the run game, and he can drive interior defensive linemen off the ball in the run game when he isn’t pulling. The body control he displays is very special. You won’t catch him overextending or reaching when he blocks and his ability to finish his blocks with violence is obvious. Ladwig is the best uncommitted senior lineman in the state.
Charlie Clark Charlie Clark 6'7" | 300 lbs | OL Madison Edgewood | 2021 State WI , 6’7″ 300- Madison Edgewood
Charlie is one of the players you like to have get off the bus first because you won’t find many players more intimidating than this 6’7″ 300 lbs dude. That elite size gives him such a huge advantage in the trenches too. He usually is getting his hands on defenders before they even get their hands up because of his length. That length paired with his size makes it seem nearly impossible to get around him in the pass game. In the run game, Charlie’s strength jumps off the tape as he washes down his defender and then usually a couple other defenders along the way. Charlie is a bulldozer. There should be plenty of RBs at the next level that would like to run behind him.
Ben Janowski Ben Janowski 6'2" | 290 lbs | OL Menomonee Falls | 2021 State WI , 6’2″ 290- Menomonee Falls
If I came out with this article a couple weeks ago Ben wouldn’t of been eligible as he was committed to Central Arkansas. However, he has recently decommitted and is back to looking for his future home. I love Ben’s film. The quickness that he plays with out of his stance and the ability to generate that into power is special. In the run game, defenders have basically no time to react to him. They blink and they are on their backs. Ben has shown the ability to get out in the open field and deliver blocks on much smaller and more agile players as well. Overall, Janowski is in the running for the title of best run blocker in the state. Add in nice agility to slide and react in pass protection and you get an offensive lineman that is going to make a coaching staff very happy when he commits.
Malachi Munoz Malachi Munoz 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Sheboygan Falls | 2021 State WI , 6’4″ 270- Sheboygan Falls
I’ve been a big fan of Munoz’s game for awhile now. He has the frame built for the next level. He carries his 270 lbs so easily and looks like he could handle the size he will need to add to continue his dominant play into the next level. Malachi has a well balanced game. A lot of time in high school you will see linemen that are better at run blocking or pass blocking, but with Malachi he has proven that he can dominate in both areas. In the run game, he can drive interior defensive linemen into the second level and his finish is violent. His impressive athleticism also makes it easy for him to stick on his guy until the play is over or pull and lead through a gap. In the passing game Malachi uses his length to get hands on defenders and then uses his agility to slide laterally and his strength to prevent himself from being driven back. He creates a solid pocket for his QB.
Joe Timmis Joe Timmis 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Milwaukee Marquette | 2021 State WI , 6’4″ 280- Milwaukee Marquette
Timmis is a consistent and reliable OT prospect. Down in and down out he plays with good technique. He is at his absolute best in the run game. When he can punch his hands and get ahold of defensive linemen in the run game he can drive them off the ball with force. I really like his agility as well. It shows up in the run game as he will quickly get himself positioned with his butt to the hole before he even contacts the defender. It allows him to have the upper hand and consistently win the battles. When he attacks downhill in the run game you better get off the tracks or he is going to run you over. Joe easily slides in his pass protection to mirror pass rushers as well. Timmis is so reliable and should be a good college linemen.
Athlete
Brett Boelkow Brett Boelkow 5'11" | 160 lbs | ATH St. Thomas More | 2021 State WI – St. Thomas More
I really like the way Brett has gone about his recruitment. He is very open to playing any position at the next level and it is clear that he has the athleticism to fill a ton of roles. Right now he plays QB for St. Thomas More, but at the next level I see him playing more in space. Brett possesses game changing speed and agility to make defenders miss and create big plays with the ball in his hands. Brett is a natural athlete and could become a steal for a college program looking for talented athletes that are willing to do whatever a team needs them to do. He is going to be showing off what he has at the Prep Redzone Iowa and Minnesota Showcases coming up, so make sure you get out there to check him out!
