Continue ReadingThe entire state of Washington is loaded with top tier offensive line talent ranging from top prospects with the likes of high 4-Star and National Recruit Joshua Conerly, 3-Star Vega Loane and 4-Star Dave Luli leading the way. Mixed in with the top guys are prospects that are closing in on their first offer as we approach the final signing day. Here we will breakdown the best available offensive lineman in the Evergreen state that are looking to continue to gain college interest as we draw closer to National Signing Day and enter the Spring.
Chris Jahnke Chris Jahnke 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Lake Washington | 2021 State WA 6’4″ 270 Ibs., Lake Washington
The Lake Washington High School product is coming off a good Junior season in which he displayed solid overall strength and good leg drive/base through out his blocks while finishing blocks at both levels and playing with good physicality. Projecting as an interior OL at the next level, Jahnke moves well for his size and can sustain blocks at the first two levels of the defense while athletic enough to pull and block in space. The 2021 prospect should start to see continued D-III interest as he approaches his Senior season this Winter.
Dawson Packwood Dawson Packwood 6'3" | 280 lbs | OL Clarkston | 2021 State WA 6’3″ 280 Ibs., Clarkston HS
Currently holding offers from Linfield University and Whitworth, Packwood is coming off a good Junior year where he showed his versatility along the offensive line playing multiple positions. A good sized interior lineman with a quick twitch and good lateral agility for his size, the 2021 prospect projects as an interior player that is also more than athletic enough to bump to the tackle position as well or move to the defensive side of the ball as a 3-tech. Winning with good athleticism and being able to block at all levels of the defense, he flashes a strong initial punch and can block in space while while keeping a low pad level and finishing blocks. A high motor and tough player that will fit nicely in the competitive D-III Northwest Conference.
Dillon Helle Dillon Helle 6'3" | 275 lbs | OL Graham-Kapowsin | 2021 State WA 6’3″ 275 Ibs., Graham-Kapowsin High school
Helping anchor one of the top teams in the entire state, Helle is an above average athlete for his size that projects as an inside player at the next level. Currently holding three offers from Whitworth University, Puget Sound and Pacific, Helle plays with good initial hand placement and leg drive through out his blocks while staying patient in pass-pro and showing good movement ability for his size. As he enters his Senior season this Winter, he should continue to see NWC interest.
Ethan Barney Ethan Barney 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Sumner | 2021 State WA 6’4″ 270 Ibs., Sumner HS
Holding offers from Central Washington and San Diego, the 2021 Sumner High School product has good size and an explosive first step and strong initial strike at the point of attack with good inside hand placement. More of a downhill blocker, Barney understands blocking angles and does a good job at getting his head/chest around when sustaining reach blocks and finishing with good aggression. Still able to put more weight on his frame, he will make a positive impact for an offensive line room at the FCS or D-II level.
Kroger Furness, 6’4″ 290 Ibs., Tahoma HS
Having ideal size at the tackle position, the Tahoma High School product had a great Junior year in which he showed very impressive overall athleticism and the ability to block well in space with good body control and stability while taking good angles to defenders at all three levels. A natural bender with good hip and ankle flexibility, Furness has a quick first step and strong punch while staying patient in pass pro and finishing all blocks. Due to his athletic ability and length, he projects as a tackle at the next level and will look to make an immediate impact, especially at the D-III level.
