In this game, the Eagles came up short, seeing themselves on the losing end of a final score that read 38-14. This will most likely fuel Collins Hill going into the off season, and will likely serve as motivation for them to return to a position to try to claim a state championship in the 2021 high school football season. In order to get their, they will rely on some of their key players from last season, who will be returning for their senior year. Below, we have included some of the top returners for the Eagle’s next season.
Sam Horn Sam Horn 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Collins Hill | 2022 State GA (2022) QB
Horn, who was one of the top QB’s in the state last season, will be returning for his senior year during the 2021 season. Horn’s arm strength, and accuracy will only continue to be a positive factor for him in the future. With this, he also shows the ability to kill a defense with his mobility inside, and outside of the pocket, which ultimately opens up the passing game throughout multiple levels of the field. We would like to see him improve in his pocket presence, but his overall ability as a passer looks to be the real deal. His fluid mechanics and ball placement seem to be at a great place for a 2022 prospect, which will only make it more interesting to see where he winds up at the next level of play.
Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA (2022) WR/ DB
As most of you already know, Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA will also be returning for his last season this upcoming fall. Hunter has it all, as he plays both sides of the ball, and also shows that he has the ability to be effective in the return game as well. He moves very smoothly as a receiver, and also has a sudden burst of quickness to his game. With this, he also has long speed, and the ability to work his way in and out of breaks very cleanly, which allows him to break off for easy receptions at receiver. When Hunter lines up at DB, he is also very lethal, because those same movement skills translate on over, making it very easy for him to stay in the receivers hip pocket, and flip his hips in coverage when needed. Needless to say, Hunter is an elite talent, and him being on the Eagle’s roster is enough to put them in a decent place to compete next season.
Spenser Anderson (2022) RB
Anderson, who is a bit of a less known prospect, had his fair share of silent success during the 2020 season. Throughout the year, he totaled over 690 rushing yards, and also totaled 9TD’s. Anderson provided a great balance to a pass heavy offense that was led by Horn, and managed to punch it in for points when needed. When the rock is in his hands, he displays a patient, and shifty running style, slicing through the defense. This shifty style is very straight line, with limited twitch. Despite this, he also shows that he can hit the hole, and accelerate at the second level. With this, Anderson also has a decent lower body build that can take on any necessary punishment. Look for him to be able to continue to shoulder more responsibility in the running game next season as a key part to the Eagle’s offense.
Christian Harris (2022) CB
During the 2020 season, Harris managed to play well opposite of Hunter, and even totaled 2 interceptions in the process. With this, he also totaled 83 tackles and proved to be a positive force for the defense. Going into next season, he will look to do the same thing, as he proved to be a very efficient corner. Not only did he show solid movement skills, but he also showed that he is efficient at getting out of his breaks, and causing pass break ups when needed. While Harris does show some quickness, he also shows that he can sink and bend well in coverage. As he will look to have another solid season in 2021, we want to see him add on to his long speed, which will ultimately be big time for him in pass coverage.
