Elite11 Indianapolis Invites: Evaluations & Analysis
The Elite11 has long been the most prestigious high school quarterback camp in the country. For the first time ever, one of the 8 regional competitions will be in the Indianapolis area on May 2nd. Below are some in-state quarterbacks that received invitations to the event.
Tayven Jackson Tayven Jackson 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Center Grove | 2022 State IN – Center Grove- 2022
Prep Redzone Indiana’s top-ranked QB, Tayven has been on a tear the last few weeks with new offers coming in from Oregon, Florida State, Texas A&M, Michigan, and Nebraska amongst others. After leading Center Grove to an undefeated class 6A state championship and top 20 national finish, he quickly transitioned to the basketball court as the starting point guard. An incredible athlete with elite pocket presence, Jackson also has good arm strength that should continue to improve as he fills out his 6’5” frame.
Brady Allen Brady Allen 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Gibson Southern | 2022 State IN – Gibson Southern- 2022
Hailing from 3A Gibson Southern in tiny Fort Branch, Indiana near Evansville, Allen is a consensus 4-star prospect and Purdue commit. He already looks like a prototypical Big10 QB at 6’6” 210. A 3-year starter with 91 TD passes and over 7,500 yards, he is one of the most productive QBs in the entire 2022 class and is used to leading a team. Allen is a pocket passer with the ability to stand tall and make every throw necessary and has done a great job in his career of protecting the football. He currently has a bit of a shot-put throwing motion and will unlock more arm strength if his mechanics improve.
Zachary Osborne Zachary Osborne 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Carmel | 2022 State IN – Carmel- 2022
One of the top dual-threat players in the Indianapolis area, Osborne overcame a shaky start to the 2020 season to lead class 6A Carmel on a run before getting injured in the playoffs. Osborne possesses enough long speed to outrun some of the best athletes in the MIC and can easily run through arm tackles. He is very tough in the pocket and is not afraid to take a hit when delivering a pass. He displayed some excellent ball placement at times on tape but will have to keep improving his arm strength and consistency to take his game to the next level.
Kale Payne- Danville- 2022
Payne is coming off a great season which he led Danville to a class 3A runner-up finish. He has had a 3:1 TD-to-INT ratio in both of his seasons as a starter and saw his completion percentage jump from 55% to 69% in his junior season. Payne has a bit of a windup in his release and can continue to work on his weight transfer but possesses excellent touch and ball placement. He can drop the deep ball in the bucket with a nice arch and has nice height at 6’3”. Additionally, he displays plus athleticism and can pick up a first down with his legs.
Gehrig Slunaker Gehrig Slunaker 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Mount Vernon | 2022 State IN -Mt. Vernon- 2022
Slunaker is a 3-year starter and recently led class 4A Mt. Vernon to one of their best seasons ever, finishing with a 12-1 record. Slunaker has the arm strength to drive the ball down the field and can make every throw. He is great in the RPO game displaying good decision-making and ball placement. He has shown improvement in each year as a starter and will need to keep improving in his progressions and ability to read the entire field rather than just one side. Slunaker is also a shortstop and outfielder in baseball and scored 8 TDs on the ground in 2020.
Danny O’Neil- Cathedral- 2024
O’Neil is believed to be the first Cathedral quarterback in history to earn varsity reps as a freshman when he got his feet wet in a handful of games in 2020. His knowledge of the game far outpaces his age, and he displays excellent pocket movement and ability to throw on the run. O’Neil played in the recent FBU Freshman All-American game, and if he continues to grow and get stronger, has a chance to be one of the top QBs nationally in the 2024 class.
