That being said, there are still plenty of uncommitted and unsigned prospects in the state of Pennsylvania, especially at quarterback. Here are five of those quarterbacks that are still available per our records.
Ethan Adams Ethan Adams 5'10" | 170 lbs | QB Lake-Lehman | 2021 PA (Lake-Lehman):
A three-year starter for Lake-Lehman, Adams finished up a very productive high school career with the Black Knights this fall. As a senior, he completed 60.6% of his passes for 1,799-yards and 18 touchdowns per Citizens Voice. Adams has decent size at 5-foot-10 and 180-pounds and is among the top prospects regardless of position in the state left uncommitted. He has good but not great arm strength, he’ll need to add more velocity on his passes as he gets to the next level. Deep passes do have a tendency to float at times but due to his quality accuracy, he is able to put the ball where it often needs to be for his receivers to make the catch. He does have the ability to bring the ball down and run if needed as well giving him a quality dual-threat ability. He is receiving mostly D3 interest at this time.
Anthony Giordano Anthony Giordano 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Central Bucks East | 2021 PA (Central Bucks East): The Central Bucks East quarterback only played in two games this season but there is a lot to like about the 6-foot-1 and 195-pound signal-caller. Giordano has good arm strength and has shown average accuracy throughout his high school career. He finished his career at Central Bucks East with a completion percentage of 54.8% for 2,839-yards, and 16 touchdowns. Much like Adams, he has the ability to run with the ball and can add value on the ground. He’s mostly received Division II and Division III interest but recently received a FCS PWO offer from Monmouth.
Jack Krug Jack Krug 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Northhampton Area | 2021 PA (Northhampton Area): Krug is still uncommitted but has released a final four in his recruitment of California University (PA), Clarion University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Saint Francis University. Krug is a high-quality prospect with decent size at 6-foot-0 and 170-pounds but has been tremendous on the field after finishing up one of the most productive careers for a Pennsylvania quarterback in quite some time. He finished with 8,362 passing yards, 108 touchdowns, and a 63.2% career completion percentage. With a final four, it’s getting late for other schools to get in on Krug but there is still time left.
Sean McTaggert (Lampeter-Strasburg): There’s a lot to like about McTaggert. At 6-foot-2 and 195-pounds he has good size and uses every bit of his frame to stand tall in the pocket, see the field, and find his man downfield. He possesses good arm strength and shows good anticipation on his passes. He will need to work on his arm strength and hitting receivers in stride on a more consistent basis. His arm strength should improve as he adds more muscle and mass in college as well as refining his mechanics. The one thing that is evident about McTaggert is that he is mentally strong and that it would take a lot to phase him. After suffering a torn ACL and LCL during his junior season, McTaggert worked hard throughout his rehab to get back onto the field this past fall. This season, he completed 56.8% of his passes for 1,865-yards and 27 touchdowns. Despite the lower completion percentage, he did not throw the ball over a ton, throwing just four picks on the season over 196 passing attempts. On the ground, he showed he was still willing to run the ball with 90 carries and 400-yards over the course of the season. He also added eight touchdowns on the ground. McTaggert is receiving interest from both FCS and Division II programs.
Will Spochart Will Spochart 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Berlin Brothers Valley High | 2021 PA (Berlin Brothersvalley):
A quarterback with great height at 6-foot-3, Spochart is an impressive quarterback who can get it done consistently both through the air and on the ground. He shows good pocket presence and vision, with the ability to rather quickly identify the best matchups. He also shows the ability to make accurate passes to all levels. He could use a little bit more velocity on his throws but he already does possess some good zip on his passes. When running with the ball, Spochart shows good vision with the ability to identify holes in the defense. A tough runner, he’s willing to run through defenders if needed en route to the end zone. Overall, Spochart is a really good athlete (shows good traits as a safety as well) and a player who is continuing to grow and develop at the quarterback position. He’s only going to get better with more time and could be a very good quarterback at the next level. Spochart is receiving mostly interest from Division II programs but does have a potential walk-on offer from an FBS program.
