When it comes to the class of 2022 their are so many uncertainties surrounding scholarship availability since all players currently on college rosters get a bonus year. The c/o 2022 need to dial up the heat in their offseason regiments as roster spots may be limited at the next level depending on NCAA rulings.
In Ohio, I have found a few 2022 prospects who deserve to get some notoriety, and with some hard work over the next few months, the dream of committing to play college football could come true.
Delian Bradley Delian Bradley 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Springfield | 2022 State OH – DB
6’0 185lbs
Springfield, Ohio
Scouting Report:
Bradley is one of the most impressive DBs in the state, led by his high IQ and toughness. Making plays in the open field is routine for Springfield’s star safety. Bringing athletes down to the ground hard is what he likes to do. Delian is a brilliant football player who knows how to play patience. If Bradley develops his speed this off-season, he will have even bigger offers coming in. Expect a monster offseason from Bradley in the weight room; also, he will move up the national recruiting charts as college camps open back up.
The Tape:
Matt Rose – LB
6’2 205lbs
Broadview, Ohio (Brecksville-Broadview)
Scouting Report:
Matt Rose is an outstanding football player. He is instinctive, he doesn’t miss many tackles, and he has deceptive speed. Rose knows how to avoid/shed blockers well and does a good job using his feet to do it. Physical, Matt looks for contact and then looks for more. Rose’s frame has room to hold more weight, making him more attractive to college coaches. Expect this downhill MLB to hear from more schools in 2021. Keep your eye on him this college camp season.
The Tape:
Zadan Abuhamdeh – LB
6’2 215lbs
North Royalton, Ohio
Scouting Report:
Zadan spent most of 2020 on the offensive side of the ball filling in a huge hole at RB. in 2019, Zadan showed flashes of a high caliber LB as he made plays in space along with using good fundamentals. Making plays off the offensive side earned him all-league honors, and his film from what he could do a sophomore on defense gives you an idea of what to expect out of the two-way player. Abuhamdeh’s upside will be on the defensive side of the ball, and college coaches will be watching to see how he develops over the next year.
The Tape:
Patrick McDonnell – LB
6’2 235lbs
North Royalton, Ohio
Scouting Report:
Patrick McDonnell will remind you of an old school 4-3 Mike backer who makes many plays. McDonnell does a good job getting off of blocks and bursting through the line of scrimmage to the running back. With his prototypical height and weight for a big-time linebacker, he will have his hands full this offseason getting better. McDonnell’s best football is ahead of him as he has picked up yoga and is working hard on his speed this offseason. College camps will be huge for this prospect heading into senior year regarding his recruitment.
The Tape:
Jayden Gibson Jayden Gibson 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Toledo Whitmer | 2022 OH – LB
6’3 200lbs
Toledo, Ohio (Whitmer)
Scouting Report:
Jayden Gibson Jayden Gibson 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Toledo Whitmer | 2022 OH is a fun athlete to watch on the football field, on both sides of the ball. While I was able to watch Gibson in person and on film, he has the look of a college football player. He is explosive on the defensive side and does well-making tackles in space. Jayden is also a very physical athlete in pass pro and does not shy away from making big hits when available. Gibson’s recruitment should pick up as college camps get underway.
