Continue ReadingHello all and welcome to Prep Redzone Tennessee. Our goal here is give D2, D3 and JUCO recruits the same coverage we give the Power Five prospects. We also strive to cover younger prospects and bring attention to future stars. In Part 1, we looked at the players ranked 11-15 which happened to be very skill position heavy. In Part 2, we’ll see three of our top linemen as well as a couple of talented skill guys.
Brycen Sanders Brycen Sanders 6'6" | 285 lbs | OL Baylor School | 2023 State TN , 6’5 270, OL- Baylor School
Chris Smith recently interviewed Sanders, one of the fastest-rising players in the state when it comes to recruiting stock. Sanders is big, physical and athletic. He excels in space and when he pulls from his guard position. Because of his frame, it’s likely he grows into a tackle and I think he could be one of the top prospects in the country at that position.
Colbey Lamberth Colbey Lamberth 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Dickson Co. | 2023 State TN , 6’2 185, Qb- Nashville Christian School
Already holding offers from multiple SEC schools, Lamberth is off to a torrid start on the recruiting trail. The Nashville Christian product displays nice touch on his deep ball and makes good decisions. He’ll have time to grow and add weight to his frame but he already has the looks of a top quarterback in the Volunteer State.
Joshua Wade Joshua Wade 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Knox. Webb | 2023 State TN , 6’4 300, OL- The King’s Academy
The 2023 class has some maulers and Wade is one of the best. He’s one of the most powerful blockers in the state, regardless of class and uses his 6’4, 300-pound frame well. He moves well for a big man and can get out on reach blocks or the occasional pull. He already holds an offer from Kentucky and we expect him to pick up more recruiting momentum when he gets to camp with schools in the near future.
Joe Crocker Joe Crocker 6'6" | 310 lbs | OL FRA | 2023 State TN , 6’7 300, OL- Franklin Road Academy
Crocker is every bit of the 6’7 he’s listed at and he makes good use of of his height, without losing much in his footwork. He’s a big right tackle that excels as both a pass blocker and a run blocker. He holds early offers from a few different SEC schools. As he continues to grow, he should be able to continue to get stronger and quicker.
Ty Lockwood Ty Lockwood 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE Independence | 2023 State TN , 6’5 220, TE- Independence
Lockwood is a big, athletic pass catcher that excels at using his size and speed before and after the catch. He’s not afraid to go across the middle of the field and catches the ball well with soft hands. He catches seemingly everything, but I’m also impressed by his blocking. While he plays out of the slot a lot, he’ll come down as an H-Back and muck it up in the trenches in the running game. He already has half a dozen offers and receive more as the offseason progresses.
