What fans and scouts see immediately is a quarterback that is not afraid to move the chains by using his legs. Wilcox has excellent awareness in the pocket. The young man knows when the pocket is collapsing and when to take off with the football. In the playoff game against Magnolia, Wilcox rushed for over 100 yards and passed for over 200 yards.
Humble is an excellent term to describe Wilcox. He credits his offensive line and teammate for his success on the field. He wants to continue to improve as a leader and a teammate. However, being humble and sharing the credit with your teammates show excellent leadership qualities. Greenbriar is determined to improve every game and just take it one game at a time.
Wilcox is looking forward to being able to go through seven-on-seven play. Being able to participate in the offseason seven-on-seven tournaments gives Wilcox a chance to get his timing down with his wide receivers. An offseason to work on his footwork and get familiar with his wide receivers is something that Wilcox is looking forward to as we approach the spring.
From a recruiting perspective, the potential Wilcox has is tremendous. With more college teams looking for quarterbacks that can run and throw, Wilcox becomes a quarterback for scouts to keep tabs on and stay familiar with. Wilcox has already had Henderson State, Hendrix, and Lyon make some early contact with him, so schools are aware of what Wilcox is capable of doing for his team. The upside that Wilcox has is tremendous and he is going to light up scoreboards on Saturdays.
