Grabbing the Spotlight: Lake Hamilton’s Owen Miller
The Lake Hamilton Wolves took a huge step forward last season into the 6-A state championship game. Wolves running back Owen Miller Owen Miller 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Lake Hamilton | 2022 State AR had a terrific 2020 season. The Wolves and Miller both have goals for the upcoming 2021 season, and both have the chance to be special this season. In this article, we will examine what Miller has in store for the offseason and discuss goals for the upcoming season.
In examining Miller’s game, it is easy to see how important he is to the Lake Hamilton offense. He displays patience in allowing his blockers to set up the blocks. Miller is decisive in choosing the rushing lane and he runs with power. He is a tough runner to bring down and initial contact is not enough to pull him down.
Miller rushed for 1,769 yards and punched the ball in the end zone 21 times. However, like any great player he is looking to find ways to improve his game. Miller is working during the offseason on improving his receiving skills. He is an intelligent young man and focusing on improving in the passing game is a great move for a running back that excels in the rushing attack. Miller catching the ball out of the backfield will make it to where it is tough to pull him off the field on third down. Bottom line is the Wolves are going to have a fun offense to watch this upcoming season.
Miller is looking forward to seven-on-seven tournaments taking place this offseason. He is focused on hammering out any details that can prevent the Wolves and himself from excelling. Miller is one athlete that Prep RedZone Arkansas will have a chance to talk with next month at the Survivor seven-on-seven tournament. At the end of the day continuing to improve will help Miller prepare for playing on Saturdays. Miller is going to be a recruit that we follow throughout the course of the 2021 season. I expect him to have a big season. The potential is there for him to really blow up from a recruiting perspective. Miller should have an impressive season and one that the Wolves hope ends with a championship in Little Rock.
