Group 2 had some of the best leaders in the middle of the defense. Burns and Mazzacco proved to be hard-hitting players with great speed. Resto was able to take over a leadership role beginning in Week 1 while Nolan was a tough-minded player. This is a group deserving of First-Team nods.

Chestnut was near the top of the state in terms of defensive back prospects. The Syracuse commit has great instincts and used them well throughout the season. Both Fussell and Creamer were reliable players on both sides of the ball. This helped their reaction and ability as cornerbacks this season.
UTIL: Tyler Sweatt, Kittatinny | Jared McCrae, Roselle
Sweatt was a dual-threat player who was able who ran the ball effectively on offense and blew up opposing team’s plans defensively. McCrae was a similar player who excelled wherever he was placed. The utility selections were made based on their ability to take over a game defensively.
P: Cade Torres, Shore
When looking at the punters around the state, Torres stuck out immediately. He was the kicker for Shore and was extremely reliable when he was given a chance. This was true whether he was asked to kick or punt.
