Continue ReadingPart of my responsibilities for PrepRedzone include the management and upkeep of more than a few PrepRedzone Twitter accounts from states all across the Midwest and into the South. I like scrolling through the offers, commitments, and various recruiting news from preps around the country, and it also doubles as a helpful source for keeping track of high school football players from Minnesota that transfer out of the state and finish their prep careers at programs outside of the Land of 10,000 Lakes. With the COVID-19 epidemic we’ve seen far more than a normal amount of preps transfer, and I’ve attempted to keep our subscribers informed of the whereabouts and results of these young bucks with a couple articles throughout 2020. I wanted to update the series with the news of two transfers I wasn’t aware of before, with one being a 2022 and another a 2021. In addition I wanted to bring your attention to a couple other high-profile studs with MN ties, as well as give you a master list of 2020 transfers and Prep School products from Minnesota. Rankings are underway still as well. Thanks for reading!
Two New Transfers
1) Jeffrey Robinson (Holy Angels -> Chandler, AZ) 2021. DB. 5’10, 175 lbs. @_jrob02 – I really don’t know how I missed this move, especially considering the fact that we had a MN prep (Dorian Singer) transfer to the state of Arizona and another ( Michael Olowo Michael Olowo 6'2" | DB Rogers | 2021 State MN ) attempt to play his senior season in Arizona as well. Robinson saw his recruitment really pop off in the offseason of his junior year in the Spring of 2020, and quickly earned offers from UW-River Falls, Bemidji State, Grand View, St. John’s, and a big-time offer from South Alabama. At some point in the summer – probably towards the end – he decided to transfer to one of the best high school programs in the nation and one of the largest high school’s in the state in Chandler High School. Accoridng to his senior Hudl he got a good amount of snaps, and showed off an ability to make an impact in both pass-coverage and run-support. He’s got quick and active feet in coverage and uses his hands well at the LOS and at the top of the route, and can make plays in space. I’ll be interested to see where he ends up. Senior Season
2) Tyree “Ty” Lockett (SMB -> Belleville, MI) 2022. WR. 5’11, 160 lbs. @tylock_3 – Also don’t know how I missed this one, but it’s definitely less surprising of a move as it seems the Lockett family moved to Michigan to be closer to eldest brother Terry Lockett, a 2020 graduate of Minnehaha Academy and a top ranked wideout from his graduating class. Younger brother Ty has the same build and somewhat of a similar skill-set to Terry, as they are both quick and shifty wideouts with the top-end speed to play the X and continue to produce as a deep-threat for their football team. I’m still waiting for updated junior film from the younger Lockett, although Michigan’s state playoffs are still ongoing.
Here's a guy that stepped forward for Belleville yesterday, 2022 WR Tyree Lockett. He's the younger brother of Michigan State freshman Terry Lockett. https://t.co/syRL0C9weF pic.twitter.com/AHfsj2kbGn

Bonus Athletes with MN Ties
Bryson and Blaine Green (Allen, TX) 2021. WRs. Both are 6’2, 210 lbs. The twin brothers of Minnesota Gopher and former East Ridge Raptors standout Seth Green have no less than prolific careers in Texas big-school powerhouse Allen, where Seth finished out his prep career after a job opportunity for their dad brought them down to TX. They were both rated as 4 star recruits and ended up committing to Oklahoma State University over offers from Auburn, Baylor, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, and many more suitors. Both boys were born and raised in Woodbury, MN. Keep your ears open for news on these two.
Devon Dampier (Pinnacle, AZ) 2023. QB. 6’, 185 lbs. The brother of Champlin Park graduate and NDSCS #JUCOPRODUCT Will Dampier was 1/2 of the dynamic Minnesota Pinnacle duo of Dampier to Dorian Singer, and the athletic and playmaking gun-slinger was recently awarded with his first D1 offer from Northern Arizona. He’s going to be one of the best Arizona signal-callers by the team he’s a senior.
