Cameron Vaughn 6’2″ 280 Ibs., St. Vincent de Paul HS
One of the most unknown top prospects in the region within the 2023 class, Vaughn was a Varsity starter in only his first year ever playing football and made a big impact for the 9-win Mustangs. Having ideal size and athleticism, he moves extremely well showing good lateral movement and a strong base in pass pro. The 2023 prospect has a strong upper body and good initial punch with inside hand placement and a strong leg drive while blocking first level defenders. A natural bender with good flexibility, he flashed his ability to sustain blocks and block in space at the first and second levels while taking good angles to defenders and playing with good physicality. Patient in pass pro, Vaughn showed good body control, balance and is extremely light on his feet, especially for his size. Projected as an interior player at the next level, Vaughn should see his recruiting take off and start to hear from FBS and FCS schools as his Sophomore season gets going and he continues to develop.
Garrett Ridley 6’0″ 220 Ibs., Rancho Cotate HS
Currently holding one offer from Whittier College, Ridley is coming off a huge Junior campaign where he helped anchor the edge for one of the top teams in all of Northern California. On tape, Ridley has an explosive first step and a natural ability to bend around the edge and brings a good thump at the point of attack. A very strong tackler in the box and high motor player, Ridley is sound against the run and flashes a good use of hands at the point of attack while rushing the passer. Although a bit undersized for the position, he makes up for it with speed, bend ability and a relentless motor. A physical and tough prospect that is also a standout on special teams, he projects as a rush end/outside linebacker at the next level and has the tools to be a multi-year impact player at the D-III level.
Isaac Torres 6’2″ 180 Ibs., Piner HS
One of the best overall athletes in the region, Torres has next level ability on both sides of the ball and is extremely dynamic. During his Junior season, he broke out and made big plays on offense and defense along with having a big impact in the return game and making plays in space. On tape, he shows good length with the ability to add muscle and is an explosive athlete that has terrific high point ability on 50/50 balls, natural ball skills and strong hands while in traffic and while in awkward body positions. A true red-zone target, Torres has explosive first step quickness and can make people miss in open space while possessing good overall long speed as well. Also a physical corner with terrific ball skills and a strong understanding of zone responsibilities and a natural turner, Torres should start to see college interest as he enters into his Senior season and has an untapped ceiling at the next level.
