Like any powerful state, there are indeed pockets of elite talent – and Polk County, which boasts cities such as Lakeland, Winter Haven, Haines City, Frostproof, Bartow, Fort Meade, Mulberry, Auburndale and so many other impressive areas, is indeed the epicenter for talent.
With the senior class getting ready to make the move to the next level, it’s now time to keep an eye on the Class of 2022, the rising senior class that will certainly grab the spotlight.
There are some quality football players, coaches and teams that have long made this area one of the best. Right in the middle of Tampa and Orlando, there is plenty of treasure to uncover.
Today, we introduce you to five current juniors who have a chance to continue to be special into the 2021 season:
Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, DT, 6-3, 275, Lakeland. One of the prospects that everyone has been watching the past few years – and his production has continued to rise every season. This past year, as a junior, he had 33 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, seven sacks and 18 QB hurries for the 7A Dreadnaughts. This is a football player that colleges have been glued to.

William Fenley, LB, 5-11, 185, Lakeland Lake Gibson. With all the talent that the Braves and Coach Paxia have on the field, when you can put together a season like this young man did in 2020, all eyes will be on him this off-season and into the 2021 season. His 87 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and three sacks put this gifted prospect on the map for a team that had plenty of prospects.

Jordan Gant, RB, 5-10, 225, Lakeland Kathleen. The first thing that you see when watching this young man perform is a big, powerful and quick runner, who blocks, catches the ball out of the backfield and is nearly impossible to bring down. A solid football talent who will be huge for this program over the next year.

Jordy Lowery, DB, 6-0, 170, Bartow. Talk about ball skills. Here is a gifted football player who is tough to throw the ball against. He is quick, athletic, skilled and long. In addition to being a tremendous cover corner, he is also a solid run-stopper. Someone who is a very good tackler. Adding to everything he brings to the table, his ability to return kicks adds that sparks this team as well.

Chuck Taylor, DT, 6-1, 275, Auburndale. There is simply nothing not to like about this young man. He wins his wins battles at the line of scrimmage because he is strong, agile and very athletic. His technique is among the best – and as you watch him – he is always getting better and learning more.
