2021
Simon Wilson Simon Wilson 6'2" | 290 lbs | DL East Moline | 2021 IL , 6’2, 260, United (IL)
This kid is a major sleeper in the 2021 class, and if you’re still looking for an interior offensive lineman, I’d scoop him up. Wilson looks solid and had massive quads he used to push off of and move laterally. He’s extremely quick out of his stance and won’t be afraid to use his strength to jump set opposing defenders. If you haven’t seen his tape, check it out because he was a standout as a junior.
Eli Ripley, 6’2, 255, Prairie (IA)
Ripley isn’t super imposing when you look at him, but man, can this kid play. He was dynamite during 1 on 1’s and won the majority of his reps. The individual portion was a cakewalk for him as it looked second nature to him. Ripley had himself a day and is still on the market for a home. He’s a talented guard who I think could potentially play center at the next level as well.
2022
Luke Dalton Luke Dalton 6'5" | 300 lbs | OL Marian Central Catholic | 2022 State IL , 6’5, 300, Marian Central Catholic (IL)
The most highly touted prospect at yesterday’s camp did not disappoint. Luke showed enhanced fundamentals during the individual portion of the camp and was dominant during 1 on 1’s. On film and in-person, you can see that he’s a downright finisher who will play hard until the whistle is blown. More offers should be coming soon.
Thomas Hubbard Thomas Hubbard 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Bartlett | 2022 State IL , 6’5, 250, Bartlett (IL)
I’m shocked at how little recruiting attention Thomas has received so far. I think he’s a legitimate prospect at three different positions on the offensive line. Thursday, he showed great patience in pass protection and overall adequate hand placement. He wasn’t phased against the speed rush and consistently won with his feet first. Hubbard moves more like a tight end than an offensive lineman and can make a huge impact in pulling schemes.
Landon Stolte, 6’2, 215, Lisbon (IA)
Don’t look at Stolte’s weight; look at his tape. This kid is a mauler as a run blocker with a nasty punch that was on display Thursday night. On film, he can easily work to the second level and will roll his hips on contact. Stolte was a technician on Thursday and used his athleticism to make up for his lack of weight.
Nathan VanDeWoestyne, 6’5, 245, Geneseo (IL)
Nathan played tight end as a junior and did some really good things on tape for Geneseo. After talking to his coach and seeing him in-person, he most certainly projects as a tackle at the next level. He moves exceptionally well for a big man and has lightning-quick feet. He’s still developing as an offensive line prospect and has his best days ahead of him. However, the potential was on full display on Thursday, and I think Nathan will have a nice college career at the next level.
2023
Tyson Cramer, 6’5, 250, Pontiac (IL)
Cramer will be a four-year varsity starter by the time he finishes his career. On Thursday, he showed the ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line & was as competitive as they come. He’s got solid feet for younger OL and is only going to get better as the years go on. This kid has a very high ceiling and I hope Illinois gets to play because I’m really looking forward to seeing his sophomore film.
Justin Hemmersbach, 6’2, 260, Morris (IL)
This kid plays nasty and has a very bright future in my eyes. He’s another experienced prospect who was a varsity stand out as just a freshman. Yesterday, Justin was quick to the point of attack and moved well laterally against countermoves. He showed overwhelming strength that gave interior defensive linemen serious issues.
Jacob Welch Jacob Welch 6'6" | 285 lbs | OL Johnsburg | 2023 State IL , 6’5, 280, Johnsburg (IL)
A massive tackle prospect that uses his long arms to his advantage. Jacob showed a good anchor against the bull rush and a sturdy punch during individual drills. I was impressed by how he didn’t let defenders get into his body and was able to reset his hands to do so. He’s got a good frame on him where he can easily add 40 pounds down the line and will look solid.
Nick Perry, 6’1, 285, Morris (IL)
Nick is a center prospect through and through and has the nastiness you look for at the next level. He showed a strong upper half and consistently put his hands on the breastplate. All-night, he did a good job of bending at the knees and ankles to ensure he wasn’t whiffing on defenders.
