Recruiting has now become so specialized that any and every “stone” is fair game when you happen to be recruiting against some of the elite schools in the nation.
No matter what class the athlete may be in – this is time of year that they will be looking for publicity and exposure.
With the season finished throughout the country, it is now officially the off-season, and with this pandemic still gripping many of us, the camps, combines and 7-on-7 events will still happen in many places, but you can almost guarantee that they will all be watched closely until the vaccine becomes available for all.
While we will run our list for the top players in the classes, there are so many athletes that people just do not see – and from our camp, combine and 7-on-7 visits, we will be able to uncover athletes that many have never heard about.
Also, there are athletes who didn’t get the looks they deserved – and obviously – the pandemic had everything to do with it.
We hope you enjoy our coverage of all Florida high school football year-round.
THE INNISS FILE
NAME: Brandon Inniss
CLASS: 2023
SCHOOL: Miami Gardens TRU Prep Academy
POSITION: WR
HEIGHT: 6-0
WEIGHT: 180
THE SCOOP: Since the 8th grade, there are few football prospects who bring to the table what this young man does.
As he enters his fourth year as a varsity starter – heading toward his junior year – this is easily one of the best football players in the country.
While there are quality receivers, nationwide, and of course right here in the Sunshine State, Inniss has taken his game to another level – showcasing his skills against some of the top teams in Florida on the way to an Independent State Championship.
He is indeed way beyond his year on the football field – as a major college receiver and safety, a top punter, kick returner and of course, as a wildcat quarterback.
Watch him play and you are taken in by how good he is – and how he remains humble, having his eye on the much larger prize that is ahead.
Make no mistake. No matter how many people want to measure themselves against Brandon Inniss the receiver – maybe they should step back and understand that this is someone who is much more than a pass catcher. Much more!
