We added almost 20 names to our list of "newcomers" for Prep Redzone Dakotas. Here is the list of the names included and why they are worthy of being ranked as one of the 237 prospects in North and South Dakota.
Joe KolbeckJoeKolbeck6'0" | QBBrandon Valley | 2021State, QB, Brandon Valley (#126)
Kohlbeck was a tough sell for me from our inaugural rankings due to the lack of film available, which remains to be the case, but winning a second state championship is more than enough to sell us on him in our rankings. Kohlbeck is an athletic monster that has the quality arm strength you are looking for in your QB1. His mobility is was extremely crucial in the state championship game. Kolbeck will play baseball at Iowa Western but left a legacy at Brandon Valley with four state championship titles in three different sports.
Jackson NoemJacksonNoemRBHamlin | 2021State, RB, Hamlin (#183)
When I watched Noem in the state finals, I saw a kid that was willing to lay his body on the line for his Chargers team. Noem defines the "bully back" term very well as his frame is just massive vs. defenders that it’s going to take three of them

Noem defines the "bully back" term very well as his frame is just massive vs. defenders that it’s going to take three of them to drag him down probably. Despite not having the quickest burst upfield, Noem does a good job with his feet on his cuts. Noem logged 32 touchdowns this season for the Chargers and over 2000 yards. Noem, like Kolbeck, chooses baseball where he will play at Mount Marty College in Yankton. More than likely, his ranking would have risen a little higher had he choose football, but mad props to Noem for leaving Hamlin a fighter on the football field.

I’m sure the change from
Chase Mason
ChaseMason6'4" | QBViborg-Hurley | 2021State to
Blake SchroedermeierBlakeSchroedermeierQBViborg-Hurley | 2022State was a significant difference for Gust at wide receiver this year, but if you watch the film. I am a big fan of this kid’s first step when he has the football, and you can tell he’s eager with the football. Gust could develop more of an upfield burst, but otherwise, he should get some college football looks as he’s undecided via Twitter for next year.

Jake WilliamsJakeWilliamsATHWosley-Wessington | 2021State, ATH, Wosley-Wessington (#181)
Williams was a player I learned about around playoff when I said, "this kid can definitely play college football." Despite not having the biggest stature (5’10, 160), Williams blocks like a tight end in that frame of his. Such a nightmare on special teams; it feels like he’s all over the field, putting a big block on a bigger player or creating an attack on wherever the football is. Williams will head to Madison next year to play at Dakota State, a player head coach Josh Anderson should be excited about.

Tristan AbbottTristanAbbottWRWosley-Wessington | 2021State, WR, Wosley-Wessington (#46)
The biggest miss back in October was Warbirds WR
Tristan AbbottTristanAbbottWRWosley-Wessington | 2021State who is now a top 50 prospect in January 2021. A very durable threat with some size (6’3, 190) dominated the 9-man game in his years at Wosley-Wessington. Abbott is tough to tackle and runs a nice variety of routes from short yardage to the deep ball. A solid pickup for the nearby Northern State Wolves.

Cody CavanaughCodyCavanaughDBDeSmet | 2021State, DB, De Smet (#124)
Cavanaugh is a player found by one of my fellow scouts that weren’t on my radar until last week. Rolling back Cavanaugh’s film, you see a kid that has a knack for being a textbook tackler. His quick-twitch ability to turn his body should be an asset to the next level. A certified ballhawk. In my opinion, Cavanaugh is under the radar and has one NAIA offer to prove my point.

Brandon DannenbringBrandonDannenbringLBSF Roosevelt | 2021State, LB, Sioux Falls Roosevelt (#147)
Dannenbring is a solid flyer to the football wherever it is. Watching his first step is where he gets all his momentum and is a quite physical tackler. Not at all afraid of contact, and it shows in every play. Wraps up a strong amount of his tackles on that first level. Dannenbring holds one NAIA offer at the moment.

Austin LakeAustinLakeQBTea Area | 2021State, QB, Tea Area (#97)
Not going to lie; I let Lake’s frame (5’10, 135) scare me a bit when I first saw his Hudl back in early October. Of course, I know he probably hasn’t updated it in a while but after turning in his senior film, I had to put him inside our top 100 prospects. Lake showed exceptional work with his feet and does have some arm strength to go along with it. Lake has a fluid ball release that would show off too that he’s a next-level kid. Quite surprising that only one Divison II school has taken a shot at this kid.

Other Key Newcomers
Landon LeidholtLandonLeidholtDBWarner | 2021State, DB, Warner
Leidholt is a tough hitter and a deep ball threat for the Warner Monarchs.

Ashton DekkerAshtonDekkerDBCuster | 2021State, DB, Custer
Dekker has really solid footwork in his backpedal. Also, if he has any speed or momentum on the play, he can be a big hitter!
Senior Tape
Derick Seimonsma, TE, Huron
Seimonsma is a tight end that can cover some range. His ability to line up anywhere for the Huron Tigers is going to be an asset to a future college program. Runs real good stop routes which will be crucial at the next level.
