It doesn’t get any better. Tonight in Miami, defending 6A state champion Miami Central and three-time defending 5A state champion Miami Northwestern will kickoff the 2020 season.

Georgia is full of talented football players and the wide receiver position is no exception. The 2020 season brought many outstanding receiving performances. There was a nice mix of talent that led 7A in receiving yards this year. Here are the top 5 receiving yards leaders from 7A. These prospects have the ability to succeed at the collegiate level.

Hunter finished the season as the leader in receiving yards, with 1,746 on 137 receptions and 24 touchdowns in 15 games. He is a two way player for Collins Hills, being even more dominant on the defensive side of the ball at corner. He has good ball skills. Hunter is very athletic and has good speed, he had no problem making defenders miss this season. His good footwork helps him create separation. He is already committed to Florida State going into his senior year.

Mitch Thompson, Class of 2021, South Forsyth
The second leading receiver this year was Thompson. In 9 games, he racked up 946 yards on 38 receptions and 11 touchdowns. Thompson was a bright spot for South Forsyth
