Under the radar Linebackers to watch for in the 2021 Season
With the 2021 season upon us, I wanted to go in-depth about some guys that are under the radar right now. These players are all talented and have college level ability. Some of these players have a few offers and with the help of big senior seasons I can foresee all of them playing college football at some level.
Daveon Crouch- Wharton
6’2 190lbs
Crouch is an outstanding Junior prospect that finished the season with 56 tackles, 11 sacks, two interceptions, and six forced fumbles! He is a tremendous athlete that also had 204 yards receiving. Crouch has an explosive first step, acceleration to the ball, closing speed and outstanding pass-rushing ability. He’s one of the best sleeper prospects that I’ve come across this season. He could end up being a very highly recruited player next year.

Colin Bernstein- Steinbrenner
6’1 225lbs
Bernstein is a name to get familiar with this upcoming season, he had a very good Junior season finishing with 66 tackles and 1.5 sacks, he averaged over 11 tackles a game in only 6 games this year. Bernstein is an athletic sideline-to-sideline player, does a good job diagnosing plays quickly and sifting through traffic and getting to the ball, he is a good sized backer that shows physicality and will step up and fill the hole. Steinbrenner has a tradition of fantastic linebackers over the years and I suspect he will continue on that Legacy.

Ke’shaun Mitchell LB- Madison County
5’10 180lbs
Mitchell had an unbelievable Junior season registering 147 tackles, two forced fumbles, and a sack. He averaged over 11 tackles a game! Mitchell is a nice linebacker prospect who has a thick frame. Shows closing speed and explosiveness as a tackler. When he fills a gap he comes with authority and power. His film is loaded with fantastic hits, I didn’t see Madison using him in space much, he does have athleticism to cover slots and backs, but he is definitely a prototype in the box linebacker.

Mitch Hammond- Sunlake
6’0 190lbs
Hammond is a very good player that I got to watch live the season in the playoffs against Viera. He is a tackling machine, in that game he had 14 tackles and for the year he totaled 97 tackles and 6 tackles for losses. He averaged over 12 tackles per game this season! Hammond has an incredible nose for the ball and is always in the right place, he’s not the biggest linebacker, but he makes up for it with intelligence, reading blocks, and taking good angles to the football. He’s also very good in pass coverage and shows the ability to cover backs out of the backfield or play zone. He’ll be one of the best linebackers in Pasco County this year

Savion Frazier- Akelyyn’s Christian Academy
6’2 230lbs
Frazier is a tremendous college prospect that has Division 1 size and ability. He finished his Junior season with 84 tackles in four sacks and averaged over 14 tackles per game! I’m stunned he doesn’t have a single offer yet. He shows very good acceleration to the football, fill holes with authority, does a terrific job taking on blocks and shedding and getting to the ball-carrier. He lines up all over the field and even shows ability as a stand-up end to rush the passer. He has very good quickness and acceleration to the football, he’s an overall outstanding prospect that should be getting a lot of looks this coming season
