While the Demons dominated almost every facet of the game, one can also reasonably assume that the strength of the team’s roster was one of their keys to victory. Seniors such as Jalen Addie Jalen Addie 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Warner Robins | 2021 State GA , Jahlen Rutherford Jahlen Rutherford 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Warner Robins | 2021 State GA , and Ahmad Walker all contributed in the team’s success. Going into the 2021 season this upcoming fall, while there will be key pieces to the team that are missing due to graduation, look for them to still have their fair share of success. There will be plenty of players who will be returning, who will hope to give Warner Robins team a dominating. Below, we have listed a few of the team’s top returners for next season.
Nick Reeves (2024) – OL
As a 2024 prospect, the fact that Reeves stands at 6’4 255 speaks volumes in itself. Reeves, who played a part in his team’s championship run in 2020, will be returning in 2021. His size and frame allow for him to take up a large amount of space, which ultimately contributes largely in his success on the line. While he is a bit raw out of his stance, he shows the ability to roll his hips on contact, and stand defenders up. Going into next season, we would like to see him bend more fluidly, rather than lean, as well as utilize his feet a bit better as well. Either way, due to his success early on, as well as his progression as an offensive linemen, we expect him to have a solid season next year.
Vic Burley (2023) – DE
Burley, who had a solid 2020 season, will continue to progress as a pass rusher. This past season, he saw himself have plenty of success as he recorded 43 solo tackles and 11 sacks. With this being said, there is plenty to be excited about when thinking about his return in 2021. As a pass rusher, Burley has the ability to fire off of the football, and utilize both his hands and feet to work his way around the offensive linemen. Often times, this results in tackles for loss, and even sacks. He also shows that he can take on blocks well, and shed them to find his way to the ball carrier, which has been crucial for him in making big stops. Burley’s size and frame is also solid for a 2023 prospect, which results in a pop on contact, and will also be interesting to see how he will continue to grow and fill out.
Daveon Walker (2022) -WR
Walker, who can be seen to play both sides of the football, made a huge impact for his offense this past season. Not only does he run solid routes, and change direction very well, but he has shown that he can catch the ball very cleanly with his hands. This has reduced bobbled passes, which ultimately, allows him to catch and turn up field quickly for big gains. Walker has also shown to be a force due to his ability to track the ball well, and focus on it when it is in the air. This results in big time catches, and can be seen to be a strength of his. Going into the 2021 season, look for him to be a big time play maker for the Demon’s offense.
Antwon Jackson (2022) -CB
Antwon Jackson found ways to shine during the 2020 season, as he found himself in place to stop opposing receivers, while also placing himself in good positions to make plays on the ball. Due to the fact that he also has an ideal length for a DB, this made it a bit easier for him to make plays. With this, Jackson also has a sudden quickness, as well as long speed that allows him to cover ground quickly, and stay in the receivers hip pocket. Jackson also shows that he has quick feet and an ability to flip his hips and turn his head well, making it hard for opposing receivers to get open. Look for him to continue to show out and develop next season, which will be huge for him when he looks to pick up offers to play football at the next level.
