Playing QB and only having three games worth of film was a blessing for the Vandals, as he is a freak athlete, and someone who I project could be the top backer in the Big Sky conference before he is done.
#8 Holden Whipple Holden Whipple 6'4" | 285 lbs | OL West Salem | 2021 State OR 6-5 290 T West Salem COMMITTED: Northern Arizona– I don’t even know if the Lumberjacks realize how big of a steal they got here. Whipple is incredibly coordinated and athletic for a big man. Watch him play hoops and you see a very talented kid who could rank among the top lineman nationwide at the FCS level.
#11 Liam Brown Liam Brown 6'5" | 280 lbs | DL Sunset | 2021 State OR 6-5 290 T Sunset COMMITTED: Montana– Brown’s potential is off the charts as the youngest brother of three D1 athletes. We will see how quickly he picks up the offensive schemes but from a talent standpoint he is the real deal.
#18 Jalen Grable Jalen Grable 6'4" | 210 lbs | WR Westview | 2021 State OR 6-4 210 WR Westview COMMITTED: Oregon “PWO”– Grable ranks as the top WR in the state, and would have probably been in the Top 10 if he didn’t take his Junior season off to play basketball. If the state actually lets the kids play, he will have a handful of additional D1 offers.
#20 Slade Shufelt Slade Shufelt 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Hillsboro | 2021 State OR 6-2 220 LB Hillsboro- Maybe the fastest rising recruit in the state for 2021. He helped himself immensely over the off season, after earning 1st team all-league accolades as a Junior. He’s another kid who will be a multi offer D1 athlete if he can add some additional film.
#40 Tyler Dahlback Tyler Dahlback 6'3" | 190 lbs | K Mountainside | 2021 State OR 6-3 190 K/P Mountainside- Potentially one of the best kickers to come out of Oregon in some time. Dahlback is an athletic kid with size. As of right now I would consider him one of the most slept on players in the state positionally.
#44 Timon Davis Timon Davis 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Grant | 2021 State OR 5-10 170 CB Grant COMMITTED: Western Oregon “PWO”– Davis ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.4 laser) among 350 athletes at the Oregon National Preps Collegiate Showcase a few months back. If he can add some film, and showcase that speed and skill, he could end up at a D1.
#46 Devik Chiang Devik Chiang 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Grants Pass | 2021 State OR 6-3 185 WR Grants Pass- Chiang has good size and is an athletic target. Most people aren’t aware of his ability playing down South, but with continued progression he could be a legit collegiate WR.
#50 Justin Hughes Justin Hughes 5'9" | 160 lbs | DB Mountainside | 2021 State OR 5-9 165 ATH Mountainside- Hands down one of the most versatile and electric players in the entire NW. As referenced previously he has D1 ability, but is just undersized. Some university is going to get a steal.
#53 Spencer Kuffel Spencer Kuffel 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Tigard | 2021 State OR 6-1 190 Safety Tigard- Most people aren’t aware of Kuffel after missing his Junior year due to injury. His teammates rave about his athletic ability. He put himself on the map after earning all-conference honors as a Sophomore.
#59 Chance Miller Chance Miller 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Canby | 2021 State OR 6-0 170 WR Canby- Miller racked up 1st team all-conference honors as a Junior in the state’s toughest conference (TRL). He doesn’t have prototypical size but he’s a flat-out baller.
#85 Zach Mahan Zach Mahan 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Lake Oswego | 2021 State OR 6-3 220 SLB Lake Oswego- From a size standpoint Mahan brings a lot to the table playing for one of the top programs in the Northwest. The Lakers had so many high-profile athletes, over the last few state championship seasons, Mahan was somewhat overshadowed.
