Continue ReadingOver the past few years, the Lake Hamilton Wolves have been one of the most impressive teams in the state of Arkansas. The Wolves had a great run in 2020 that ended in an appearance at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock for the state championship. As talented as the 2020 team was, the 2021 version of the Wolves have the potential to make another deep playoff run. We are going to examine some of the players that have the potential to have a big 2021 season for Lake Hamilton.
The Lake Hamilton offense has several valuable pieces of the offense returning for the 2021 season. The Wolves have one of the most explosive running back combinations in the state of Arkansas returning next season. Owen Miller Owen Miller 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Lake Hamilton | 2022 State AR is the running back that will not be brought down on initial contact. He is a patient runner that does a good job of allowing his blockers to create a rushing lane. Miller racked up 1,769 yards and 21 touchdowns last season and is looking to build off that performance this season. Meanwhile, Tevin Woodley amassed 1,925 yards and 22 touchdowns last season for the Wolves.
Quarterback Grant Bearden does a terrific job of making the throws needed to pick up first downs. Bearden is not afraid to pull the ball down and take off with it. He uses his legs well to pick up key first downs. Bearden performed well for the Wolves last season and he has the potential to have an even bigger 2021 season.
The Lake Hamilton offensive line will have veteran leadership returning in the form of offensive tackle Chase Jessup Chase Jessup 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Lake Hamilton | 2022 State AR . Jessup is an offensive tackle that plays with a mean streak. He does an excellent job of clearing a path for the ball carrier. Jessup has already earned several division one scholarships offers and has an opportunity to really display how dominant an offensive lineman he is. The Wolves have talented players all over the field, so it will be interesting to see if the Lake Hamilton can get momentum rolling again this season. The 6-A conference in Arkansas has several powerhouse programs. Getting off to a hot start will be key for the Wolves.
