Luther Burden transferred out of Missouri to Illinois so the class of 2022 lost a star there. But even with Burden moving to East St. Louis, the 2022 class is LOADED with top-end talent and plenty of depth. In the post season 2020 rankings, Prep Redzone has 13 WRs in the top 100 and 25 in top 126. I believe all 25 are college players as they continue to hone their craft. Here are a few names outside the top 10 that all football fans need to know.
Quinton Conley Quinton Conley 6'4" | 220 lbs | WR Pembroke Hill | 2022 State MO , Pembroke Hill
Conley already holds a few D-1 offers but will continue to ascend in the rankings as his strength and speed improve. Conley is a physically imposing player who has grown as a route runner. Strength has never been an issue for the well-built player. Conley has soft hands, is powerful off the line of scrimmage and is a willing blocker. The ceiling for Conley has yet to be set and his recruiting is about to explode on the national level.
Colin Bunner Colin Bunner 6'2" | 200 lbs | WR Holt | 2022 State MO , Holt
Holt is loaded with talent in 2022 and should make a serious run at a state championship. One of the key cogs to the offense is Bunner. The rising senior has excellent long speed, very good size and is a crisp route runner especially on slants, digs and vertical routes. Bunner has good body control and can get up to full speed quickly. As more college coaches flock to Wentzville, Bunner’s ascension in recruiting rankings will begin to explode.
Derek Brandt Derek Brandt 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Owensville | 2022 State MO , Owensville
There are games in 2020 where Brandt single-handedly took over. Listed and lined up as a receiver in high school, I could see a smart college program converting Derek to H-back. Brandt is a large target who wins ever 50/50 ball and uses his size inherently well in matchups. One of the most aware players I have scouted in high school, Brandt has an uncanny way to find the open zone. Brandt’s stock will continue to rise and he is a player all college coaches need to see to appreciate.
Jace Carr Jace Carr 6'2" | 165 lbs | WR Harrisburg | 2022 State MO , Harrisburg
Carr has speed, size and quick hands. The rising senior will add size and strength as he grows but with his frame, Carr can add and easy 20 lbs. and still hold his quickness. The junior scored a multitude of long touchdowns in 2020 by simply winning off the line of scrimmage with speed and then out-racing the defender. With a strong offseason on the camp circuit, look for college coaches to take more notice of the Bulldog.
Enrique Padron Enrique Padron 6'2" | 200 lbs | WR MO Military Academy | 2022 State MO , Missouri Military Academy
Padron put together one heck of a season for MMA in 2020, accounting for over 2000 all-purpose yards. The junior is also a baller on defense. Originally from Florida, Padron is a freaky good athlete who is strong after the catch, is powerful in and out of breaks and catches the football with ease. I fully expect coaches to flock to Mexico, Missouri to get a glimpse of the future college player in 2021.
